Make your own Jamiroquai tune!
It's so simple: follow the recipe below!
1. Pick a random action, or word, or whatever. Something energetic and cool is essential, like "jam" or "groove" or "spin". For now let's call it [word]. [Word] doesn't have to be a verb; in fact the song will be more fun if it isn't.
2. [word] will be the song's title. You can write it at the top of your page now.
3. Time for lyrics. The song has to start with something like:
"I was heading on down to the ______ , but ______ got in my way-hey... oh-ho now, everyone was freaken' out, asking 'why don't we [word]?!"
4. Now, regardless of the type of tune or it's tempo, pick 4 of the following lines, arrange them randomly, and pepper them with the word "funky":
"Suddenly I realised we had to [word]!"
"Come on, you know we gotta [word]!"
"Oh baby you know you wanna [word]!"
"Come on I wanna [word] with you!"
"Oh-ho-ho now! [word]!"
"Ima thinkin' we've gone an' lost the [word]! So, so long now."
"[word] [word] [word]!!!"
"Alright now you give me so much [word]!"
"Feels like [word]!"
"Ahh [w-[w-[w-[word] now!"
Repeat x 12
In slower tunes however, a girl has to come into the lyrics somewhere. She is usually the cause of, or reason behind, the lack of [word].
5. Anyway, each time [word] comes up, it must be punctuated by an annoying trumpet riff which doesn't go with the rest of the instruments.
6. Add an ethereal twinkly-bell intro and you're good to go!
Thanks Jay Kay, I continue to prostrate myself at the feet of the world's greatest song-writing genius, who'll no-doubt continue to produce innovative and original music for many decades to come! |
