funny, i was just listening to 'southern girl' with her and rahzel.
i have seen her about 3 times. great, great show. the best was when she came with common (her BF at the time).
she's SUCH a comedian on stage in addition to being a singer. definitely suggest fans check her out.

Lucky you Deesh  ! I don`t really know if I have a chance to check her on stage in the future...  I have all her albums, the MTV unplugged vid and a special bootleg made on a gig on the day of her birthday in 2003. Unique singer with special charism and personality. |

i like the older stuff better than new stuff, but live it's all dope.
i do hope you get to see her live. her show has a really nice vibe to it and you'll laugh so much. she has these punchlines that she throws in between lyrics and such.
she also does crazy stuff like takes her hair off (she always rocks wigs) and shares tea with the audience. her band was pretty tight when she came through last time also. and since i live in philly, i got to see her special guest star with the roots one night! amazing

Saw her last night at a FREE concert and she was wonderful. She is so talented and beautiful.
The best part was I got to meet her afterwards at a party and she was so down to earth! I actually had a shirt for her from Clayton's community organization and I gave it to her at the party! She was so grateful and I saw her walking out with it in hand.
I was almost star struck seeing her. She was mad chill and dancing alongside her, when I've been a fan for about ten years, had me hype and smiling all night.
I also got to meet Big Daddy Kane, and if anyone knows anything about hip-hop, Kane was one of the first and best to touch a mic or stage.
I am so tired right now, but it was all so worth it. I can't believe I met Erykah and Kane...what a damn good night. Just gotta make it throught the work day.....

Hey Russ - I am not sure if she is doing Europe at all. On her website it doesn't say anything, but then again the gig she has tonight here isn't on there either. I guess just continue to check her website and if I hear anything, I'll let you know.
Definitely a show to catch!

I heard about it too and it is supposed to be very hip-hop oriented. I'm guessing the beats and such, as well as Erykah doing her low key rhyming on some (like she has done in previous releases). I think she is also doing some of the beats on the album herself. Anyway, she recently answered some questions on the OKAYPLAYER Boards. The thread is superlong, but if you have time to read it and are a Badu fan, check it out. Her screen name is analoguegirl...
I will post the link when I get to work because I'm running late!

Thanks Deesh! Just read another thread there where she really got pissed off on the feedbacks on Honey and Real Thing (she had the right do that as some of the post were full of disrespect). |
