A Wonder Summer's Night
I had the honour of seeing Stevie Wonder at the O2 in London on Tuesday night and I still haven't come down, I was totally in awe of this great man. He is not only a legendary song writer and an immensely gifted singer and musician, he is a warm and humble human being who unconditionally gives his immense love to everybody (reminds me of Jean-Paul 'Bluey' Maunick).
I can't remember the running order (sorry), although, as you would expect, Stevie floored us with hit after hit from his extensive back catalogue – the audience was completely captivated. He also performed one track off his forthcoming album - which sounds like another winner to me and a couple of kick-ass instrumentals which me into total rapture.... Joss Stone also duetted on 'Signed. Sealed, Delivered'.
Stevie also spoke lovingly about his Mother (he said that his success enabled him to give her the kind of life that she would never have been able to have otherwise), about the need for change in the World and his support of Barrack Obama.
When you start to think about the adversity that Stevie Wonder has had to overcome in his life so far and his outlook on life, well, it just blows you away….
All that I can say in closing is; WE LOVE YOU STEVIE!
Peace,
