J KAY TO JOCK KAY
Hi everyone, I found this article today...
J KAY TO JOCK KAY
JAY Kay's New Year's resolution must be to put some distance between him and the paparazzi.
The Jamiroquai front man, 36, is heading to the Scottish Highlands for a few months to finish a jazz album.
And he's modelling his new sound on his mum's, singer Karen Kay.
He says: "No doubt people will say 'What have you done - it sounds crazy' but I'll say 'But I like it'." Judge for yourself when Jamiroquai tour in late 2007.

A Jazz album...nice..I remeber having a chat with my oncle couple of years ago, and he told me this : " You'll see...if his mum was a jazz singer, one day he'll sing some jazz tunes too!!" . Will see!! |

I can't wait for the album! (Even though I am slightly worried about how will it turn out, as it is almost a 180 degree turn in musical style...)
How do you expect the cover art to look like? I see it as a blue-tinted photo of Jay holding a glass model of the Buffalo Man in his hand. (A blue tinted photo of the lead singer is something like a cliche among Jazz album covers, and a pretty awesome one, too) |

mmm nice idea!
sound interesting! But I don't know why but since I follow Jmq I don't trust so much english newspaper!
Anyway it would be great and I will not be in the list on thoose asking him if he's going crazy but standing in the one of ppl who wanna have a good evening with JMQ music!
ok it is just an idea and I know is ....utopistic(?) but it would be great if he could involve his mum in this, after all she's the one from where it all started!

Nah, I guess he'll go for some fusion jazz, which is in fact the music style which gave birth to funk. _________________
