Just read this now & so sorry to hear about this. Sad

It makes me ashamed to be from the Uk - AGAIN!!

im going along with Ophone's conspiracy theory and wondering if this is a 'tit for tat' thing? British people are always having problems with gaining entrance into Aus & emigrating too. What annoys me though is that they are trying to make a living, being productive and adding to our economy by playing over here. Rolling Eyes

They are making money in the bars & clubs for the capital city of the country. But hey - they will let asylum seekers in and accomodate them no problem, also allowing them to claim every benefit going Exclamation In return they construct a bomb in their 4 bedroom house and blow us all up. Mad

The goverment has gone to far as usual - taking the situation to extremes without applying any common sense. It's always the same when a problem requires attention. Maybe if they said they were homeless, had no where to stay & had no jobs - they would be allowed a house, £300 a week and free healthcare - just an idea Idea

My thoughts go out to James & Lilyah & the rest of the band. I think a complaint needs to be put together for Uk immigration.

Will see you in Ahaus. Wink

I was talking to James when they were in Shanghai about 3 hours ago.
He liked the idea of the virtual gig. Maybe this is an option. They received the jamily good vibes and they are thankful! Means so much to them!!

Please, whatever we plan.. can we take care a bit, that we go somewhere where I can bring my kids too? At least for a while. Would be nice if my hubby and the boys could join us. (I think bars are only open for people over 18, am I right?)

The Mau Mau Bar as a meeting point makes sense.. but maybe we can swap the place once they throw out my kids. Wink

Thanks!

Hey Meike,

Glad you're giving support to the band - I can't even begin to imagine how they must be feeling.

Maybe we can all have dinner together? I do want to meet your "gang" Smile

I phoned the bar last week, as I was thinking of bringing Laura (who's 14) - unfortunately it is strictly over 18's.

I'll contact Darthy tonight and let him know what's happened (if he doesn't already know), but tell him still to bring his butt to the bar Smile

Jan

That's just sad really. The fact that they got on the plane and got there and then couldn't get in?

Seriously...even if the paperwork wasn't right. Couldn't they have fixed it while they were there? I mean, email, faxes and phones still work, and the only conclusion was to have them fly back?

That's just ridiculous. I hope you guys enjoy dinner and the gathering together despite the BS.

...and have a wonderful time regardless everyone and enjoy seeing Sola. Wink

I'm really sorry for everyone. For the band and for the jamily meeting, this is definitely ridiculous...

Hope you'll enjoy your time together in spite of this story...

Crying or Very sad What a shame! All that way! I feel so bad for those guys! I wish there was something we could all do for them, we are all really sad for them....there should have been a better way to solve this matter...

Some of those same things happened here in the US with the Cuban bands a while back....denied thier visas... Post 9/11 crap!

Meike, here are a couple of pubs for families which you may be interested in Smile All in North West London, not far from Mau Mau's. Or you can head to Covent Garden early evening and try to see whether there are outside tables in the square. Cafe Rouge is also a nice place to sit and have some refreshments, being a Thursday evening and holiday season here, it shouldn't be too difficult in booking a table. PM me if you want me to book something for you Smile

The Flask 8 miles North of Mau Mau's - Highgate Tube Station
Pineapple 6 miles North of Mau Mau's - Kentish Town Tube Station

Both of these are on the Northern Line (black line - heading towards North of London). Btw, it's very hot in London at the moment, so take water bottles when travelling on the underground!

Am also sorry to hear this news - I know how much you were all looking forward to meeting with and supporting NC! 2grouphug

Thanks Anna! Will you join us?? (that's not a question, it's an order!! Wink )

One of the pubs says: children allowed until 8pm. I was hoping to have them with us longer... Confused

I cannot decide this... we are a lot of people with different needs... so, no need to book at the moment, but thanks for the offer!! bumpin' heart We probably have to decide spontaneously. Sitting outside somewhere sounds good considering that it is so hot. Here it's the same. sunny .. I am melting... 2melting
