The State of The Official Site Address!!
THE STATE OF THE OFFICIAL SITE ADDRESS (not given by the dimwit above thankfully!) by JamiroFan2000, please leave your thoughts!
Hello JamiroLadies and Gentlemen, :bm_r:
I thought would drop some mental baggage that has been bothering me. It's no mystery that the Official Jamiroquai site (www.jamiroquai.co.uk) is in a state of decay, due to no updates being done, and having a webteam that has been on the lazy lately. Seems like the ONLY times the site is updated is when they have new pieces of Jamiroquai merchandise to push (Only one of the Midnight Sun Tour shirts lookes cool!) OR when a fellow bandmember (Never JK!) is forced (Is "forced" too strong a word?) to drop a pithe' post thanking "only the fans who went to their gigs or tourdates" and not giving any hints about their upcoming projects or albums. Then we have J-Talk, now saturated with so many newbies that looking for any thought-provoking chatter is nearly impossible (I love seeing all the bright-faced fans, but a little too much excess is a bad thing). Now we get to this unfounded rumour that Nick is leaving the band, granted most of past rumour of band vacants were true, I strongly feel it's a rumour plain and simple and should be taken with a grain of salt. These rumours are usually drummed up by Tabloids when they run out of celebs to report about. Back to the Official Site, the site is absolutely failing for two simple reasons: 1. The webmaster & team (If there's a human in that office) have given up and decided to be lazy (as mentioned before), I don't know whether if plain boredom OR miscommunication on all sides 2. JK, when was surrounded by the UK press the day he unveiled the New Official Site on a computer LIED about trying to reach out to the fans through the site. JK is laxing on a site that if fully utilized could make his relationship with fans much better than always been at security-shoulder length with his most favorable fans. I think JK needs to stop rolling around the excess so much, and reaffirm his relationship with both the band (Not look at it as a chore.) and the fans most importantly, have a open forum with the big Jamiroquai fansites bigwhigs and ask for their imput on all the issues. I am sorry for dropping all this stuff on the users of JamiroTalk, but after these things fester for a long time, they have to shared with fellow fans, a way of relieving the frustration. So to sum up, the The State of the Official Site is in shambles, and needs to be rectified soon or the fanbase is at risk of leaving to other bands (Just my opinion). Thanks for listening, take care and please leave your thoughts on this issue, I'm most interested in your replies. Peace and God Bless Jamiroquai and all fans who enjoy their music!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 |

yes
Yes jamirofan ...as a fan i think so too !
"Jay´s official website" should inform us about the news (the real ones .. no rumours) of the band.....
I really ask myself who is the webmaster ???
Do we expect to much???
and i remember Jay was asked in an interview about the "world wide web"...that he hasn´t got any idea of computer....
so no wonder.....
i´m almost sure that he never took a look on his site...
but if i would be jay.... would i "talk" to my fans through the www.????......
you can read what "nice discussions" from "very nice ""fans"" are sometimes in "jtalk".
but they must inform us about the news of the band...e.g. what´s up with the new album.... _________________

I totally agree with what JamiroFan said. That site has gone to the dogs (metaphorically speaking).
Maybe Jay's dogs were the only ones that read the site...? Heh |

it's sure there's a problem with the official website and as other band/artist does, Jamiroquai should ask fans to run the official website or being engaged more with them.
I'm also a huge fan of Muse, their official website is updated regulary and their contacts are really different with their fansites compared to the contacts between Jamiroquai and sites like Funkin.com or this one and mine. Recently, they've given 100 places to the musclemuse.com for a private gig in Paris, I don't know if we'll see it one day...
conclusion : Jamiroquai must change their politic with their Internet fan community, they must do something for their official website, and try to enhance the contacts with their fans. |

I totally agree with that. Updates, better management of the site and new approach with the fans is what we need.
Still, I have to say I have known very nice people through jtalk _________________ livin' just enough for the city |

I hope i'm not alone in this but i'm also really getting jack of www.jamiroquai.co.uk I dont go there for news anymore - this site and funkin.com are my bases for jamiroquai news.
Its really poor as this is a great way for jamiroquai personnel to access fans and what we want and what we like and dont like. Its a PR wet dream!!!!
i found only one e-mail address on the website and that was
webmaster@jamiroquai.co.uk and the guys name is Charlie Roberts
I have no idea if it will do any good to e-mail that address with your concerns but it might be worth the time if someone does happens.
aaannnnddd... whatever happened to the chat room in there???
anywho talk soon

I totally agree with you JamiroFan 2000.
I believe that the Jamiroquai Management ougth to put theirs eyes in Incubus. They have a fantastic relationship with their fans. However we should show our discontent to the Jamiroquai Management. Does anyone knows their contact, adress, e-mail?!?!
Let´s gather ourselves and do something to change this situation.

A good point Jamirofan, and well made.
It's nothing that hasn't been said before, but it is an issue that always seems more obvious in quiet periods like now. We all appreciate they have a lot of work to do on the new album, but it wouldn't hurt for some progress reports or contact to pop up on jamiroquai.useless.co.uk once in a while. I've often read about other bands or artists, who are considered to be much 'bigger' than Jami, who take a continuous and active interest in their fan base. Whether it's really them or just representatives isn't the point. I suppose what Jamirofan and some others in the past are saying is, it seems like 'They' (The band, the record company, whatever) only talk to us when it's in THEIR best interests to do so. I wouldn't be so cynical as to say that's totally true, but when the only news you get in some months on the official site is "There's a new keyring at the J.Shop" you start to wonder...
God, if they even PRETENDED Jay Kay left a message to the fans on JTalk it would get everyone talking for weeks! Not that I'm giving anyone any ideas...

Well, I also read that about Jay doesn't know nothing about computers but I think that maybe he has somebody that could tell him all what is said on the internet about Jamiroquai. Imagine that someone acusses him of plagiarism on some web site...he has to know!

Speaking of that, I just got an e-mail from jamiroquai.co.uk today, telling me that Late Night Tales is now available. It's just a profit scheme. It's not really a fansite anymore.
Oh well. Maybe we'll get something new and improved when album six comes out. |

jamiroquai official site
Jay probably doesn't even know what shambles his site is in. Or he does and can't get a hold of the webmaster or something like that. I'm not so sure, but i think that site is run by Sony-of course its all profit! Besides what we are all well aware of now is that JK has been in the studio and before that was probably getting the songs written. This, and funkin.com are the REAL fansites-sites put together and frequently visited by real, hardcore jamiroquai fans. The record companies are to blame (i think). Jay is probably paying someone to have the "official" site taken care of and they just take the money and don't do anything about it. I know this was an issue written a while ago, but its still a problem and i just read it for the first time today. can't wait till September! we should all get together and have our own release party!!!
