Google Chrome!
*Image removed to respect flimsy copyright politiks*
Hello,
Hehe, yeah, still to be kind of "incognito" from Talk lately due to other favorite band matters, but this is a COOL new internet browser I must tell you all about . Those geniuses at Google, have unveiled, last week, their new internet browser which is SURE to give Mozilla a run for their "Firefox", entitled "Chrome". And it may only be in BETA so far, but having used it a couple times, I must say, it is EXTREMELY impressive! From it's slick look and more simplified Tabbing, and it's COOL new "Incognito" web surfing option (Pretty much a smokescreen for those whom are afraid that their webbrowsing could be monitored!), this is a DEFINITELY must try out new application! Download the beta here and please leave your thoughts about it on the thread:

ENJOY !
Sincerely,

I'm using it since a week and I have to tell that it's damn fast, the new concept introduced are breakthrough technology, nobody thought before to use a different process for every single tab of the browser. Althrough it's sill buggy it's now replacing my previous default browser which was Firefox.
As example of how young is it, here on jamirotalk I experience strange things when I fill the text modules, characters disappear...
Finally some software that aims to speed up your machine and not another bloatware app...
Oh...I find the logo very awful sorry _________________ I once had a 10 years of Travelling Without Moving celebrations banner here... |

Hello again,
Indeed, Brother Donkey, Chrome is definitely shown alot of promise, aside with the little bugs so far . But the most impressive thing, additionally compared to the "Incognito browser window", has got to be the ASTOUNDING download manager on it, if you have a modestly fast net connection, you can pretty much run "an assload of downloads" on how many browser windows you have open. Google continue to innovate, and who thought they would do it with the internet browser, I keep hearing the endless buzz hoopla over their impending Google IPhone. Cheers!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000
P.S. In regards to the Chrome logo, much agreed, looks like some rival "Pokeball" from the "Pokemon universe" or something! _________________

Thank U very much Brent for this info
I haven't had a chance to test out it yet.
But in terms of reviews, Chrome is pretty good, as a 1.0 product. Someone, for example, cites 7 pros and cons of Chrome, including faster performance, better search, but notes that there are fewer add-ons and possibly fewer sites coding to Google's standards and other call Chrome Google 2.0 and notes that its both faster and more stable than other browsers. _________________

I'm curious but haven't installed it yet (downloaded it though)
I recently found foxmarks for Firefox and that's really useful if you work on more pc's (home, work and laptop), through this add-on my bookmarks are everywhere the same. Hopefully something like this will be developed for chrome too, then it might have a chance replacing the good old Firefox. Until then ... I might install it and use it but just to try it out. |

Pretty nice this new browser, except of course the horrible logo and the name (I can't disassociate it with drongos getting high off spray paint, haha!)
I thought I would miss my drop down custom search box from Firefox, but if you right click the address bar in Chrome, you can edit the search engines, add new ones and put like a single letter keyword in there... easy. _________________
