Hi there,
Congratulations for the interview !
Having met Matt at his very first Jamiroquai concert (Carling Homecoming, London, May 2002), I can say he's a very nice and humble person !
After that gig, he said he had been a bit frightened to play that night but that he was ways more afraid to be playing at the Rock Im Park / Rock Am Ring concerts with huge audiences, just a couple of days later.
I'm definitely looking forward to hearing music that he contributes to, since we haven't been able to hear any of that yet...
Here's a picture of Mr Johnson during the Carling gig (playing Deeper Underground):
Cheers

Great interview Meike!!! How did you come in contact with him?
He really seems to be a nice guy and I like the way he describes the other bandmembers
I remember that I was a bit disappointed that Jay didn't introduce Matt as a new bandmember at the Rock am Ring - I can imagine that he was afraid of playing infront of so many people
Keep on funkin Matt!!! I'm looking forward to the new album

Thank you...:-)
Hello everyone, :bm_r:
Sorry for not posting sooner, busy still with the clean-up from Hurricane Isabel, really ravaged the East Coast here in the U.S.! I'm OK if your wondering, but rather sick, the Hurricane knocked out power for 4 days so far and the Water Treatment plants by accident mixed raw sewage with the tap water and I drank some, I've been ill, but I'm OK now! Now with that update out of the way, GREAT INTERVIEW MEIKE, I'm so proud to have been involved with this venture ;-D! Also thanks to everyone who liked my editorial at the beginning of the interview, honestly I typed it in less than 2 minutes at the spur of the moment, but I'm still proud of it ! Again Great Interview and glad everyone liked it, GREAT JOB MEIKE!!! Peace all!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 |

Thanks for that inteview!!
I really enjoyed it, specially the part where he talks bout the new album
And I just want to remark what Jamirofan2000 wisely said, the band is not finished at all, but its changing and growing with new members & funky rythms.
Cheers to all,

Matt-Johnson-Special with rare interview at JamiroTalk
Hello Jamiroquai-Fans!!!
I am happy, because today I can present you something very special and rare!
Follow the link and you will find a nice article about Jamiroquai's keyboardist Matt Johnson including an interview and some biographical information about the man.
By the way, the answers are brand new. I got them just in time before Matt was leaving for Istanbul.
Enjoy, I am sure you will like it!

Your chance to say "hello" to Matt: he will see it!
Special thanks to Jamirofan2000 for the editorial support
and of course a big Thank You to Matt for enabling this interview!!!

pardon?
facts can be wrong, but opinions are debatable. anyhow, I think Matt's a funky, lyrical keyboard player with fly improvisational skillz. we'll hear him on record soon I guess _________________ i left my funk in san francisco

Matt has certainly proved himself beyond a shadow of a doubt as being absolutely brilliant as Jamiroquai's keyboard player.
His live performances have been mind boggling !!! Note how he said that he likes and thrives on the improvisations and changes that "Sir" JK introduces ad lib to their performances.
Excellence - thanks Matt !!!
BTW - Fancy him having Justified in his collection. I wonder whether he likes Senorita as much as I do ??? |
