dunno why i can't load the vids...but i don't think i need to see them to know the use of the "global warming" by politicians is pure shit.

i'm geologist and i have studied the climatics of earth's story.
to talk about "stop climate change" (to save the earth!) is as absurd as talk about "stop the time" or "stop the continents".
climate is in big time scale always changing dramatically and in low scale gots the major changing rate since the beggining of the holozene.
of course our stupid overuse of earths matter (not only oil and stuff) is altering what is around us (deforestation is way more dangerous for the biosphere than co2 pollution but as it's still giving lot of money to the powers they won't talk about stoping it) but they're using the thing hipocritally just to have people controled more and more and worried about fake targets, to keep going on with their shit.

the "global economc crisis" goes in the same way...

The problem with those "global warming is a hoax" videos Jay (apart from them using non-current data and distorting their graphs to suit themselves) is that they seem to be saying that a continuation of mass fossil fuel energy consumption is ok because increasing levels of CO2 and other garbage in the atmosphere doesn't cause global temperatures to increase or decrease, solar activity does.

I'm not qualified to know how true this is or not, but personally I'd rather look through a clear sky than one full of pollution and shit.

...and did you listen to their pathetic argument for not using photovoltaics in Africa? Of course you're not going to be able to do much with a single panel! Honestly, I don't know how they can get away with showing rubbish like that.

In any case, it's generally regarded that the program in those youtube videos, 'The Great Global Warming Swindle' (by Martin Durkin), contained major misrepresentations of scientific evidence in order to make its point, so I wouldn't pay too much attention to it.

Sure, look at any graph plotting the last 400,000 years and you'll see cycles of both temperature and atmospheric carbon dioxide rise and fall at around the same time.

From this data it's obvious the two are linked, but whether the temperature controls carbon dioxide levels or whether it's the other way round is the big question.

If atmospheric CO2 levels control the temperature, then we're in some deep shit, coz CO2 and other greenhouse gas levels have skyrocketed something bad since the industrial revolution, and massive deforestation has reduced earths ability to soak up all this 'new' carbon.

General consensus is that the recent temperature spike over the past hundred years is anthropogenic (caused by humans), but even if it's not, what's wrong with playing it safe and minimising waste, using less energy, etc, etc?

Or... we could just say fuck it and leave it for future generations to sort out. After all, if we're not here ourselves, who really gives a shit, right?

yes andrew totally agree.
is just that powers and politicians use the thing hipocritaly, deflecting the problem from the real issue, to keep controling more and more.
is all them, governs, powers and big insustries who keeps winning money, who keeps deforestating the whole world, who keeps wityh the big co2 emisions and who keeps promoting and absurd and killer system of consumism, and waste of energy/matery.
all what they say are white words about distorted facts.
