The Brand New Heavies Live - indigo2, London 16th October
I went to see the BNH at the indigO2 last Thursday and was totally blown away.
They are back in the UK with a bang (and I for one, am so glad they are) - they looked and sounded absolutely brilliant and to top off a top night, we were able to buy the live recording of the show afterwards - but don't take my word for it - you can purchase the CD (or download individual tracks) yourselves from: http://www.liveherenow.com/ this is a great addition to your music collection, even if you weren’t there in person.
The line up on the night was;
N'Dea Davenport - Vocals
Andrew Love Levy - Bass + Backing Vocals
Simon Bartholomew - Guitar + Backing Vocals
Jan Kincaid - Drums + Vocals
Matt Steele - Keyboards
Dominic Glover - Trumpet
Nichol Thomson - Trombone
Finn Peters - Saxophone
Hazel Fernandes - Backing Vocals
Lascelles Gordon - Percussion
and the set list (not including the intro);
People Get Ready
Brand Hew Heavies
All Fired Up
Never Stop
Don''t Let Go
Dream On Dreamer
Midnight At The Oasis
Sometimes
Back To Love
Magnifique (N’Dea belted this one out)
Sex God
I Don''t Know Why
Ride In The Sky
Daybreak.
Brother Sister
Jump And Move (had the indigO2 crowd on their feet)
Let''s Do It Again
Spend Some Time
Universe
Forever
Stay This Way
Dream Come True
For those of you in and around London, the Heavies are playing a one-off charity performance in aid of the homeless on Tuesday 16th December at the Bloomsbury Ballroom. Check http://www.gigantic.com or call +44 115 959 7908 for further details.
Also, for those of us who are lucky enough to be going - we are in for a real treat in Germany - Incognito + the BNH!
Bring it on!!
Peace. _________________ You know this boogie is for real

lol!
i was just about to post this David! we nearly went to this gig - hey Peggy, Nicki, Jan??
went to see them last night in Manchester and also purchased the cd but what i want to know is how did you get it so quick! i was even wondering how i got it so quick just a week later but it's obviously not from the performance there if you got it also on the same day even aswell! It's funny how we have waited so long for a live cd and this is how quick they can produce one! hey Rene
They were on sparkling form - your right and had the people baying for more, chanting the infamous 'Oooh wohhh, yeahh yeahh' after 'Dream Come True' at the end. remember in ahaus - i think we went on for about 30mins before Jamiroquai came on!
I also noticed Hazel Fernandez on the cd sleeve but N'Dea mentioned a Hazel in the performance but she was 20 years old? was it OUR Hazel?
pics & vids to follow - pics not too good though _________________

Seems to be a short setlist on the sondboard, was it really only that 9-10 tracks?? Anyway I hope to see them on 15th Nov in Hungary again after last year, if the venue records the gig I'll get an audio copy very very soon after the gig... |

This should be at every gig of every artist. I understand that it probably won't be possible at large venues but you pay a lot for coming to a gig and what do you get afterwards (besides the buzzing in your ear) - nothing.
I know some gigs - like Jazz Cafe or Ahaus - will always be remembered but I think it would be nice to be able to hear that certain gig again, then you'll be able to relive it.
anyway - these are my two cents
ps can someone, going to Leverkussen, get me one of those cd's if they have them there. I'll go to the Luxemburg gig and maybe they have the cd's there as well but I just want to be at the safe side |

They must have been sold out here in Luxembourg, because I could buy my copy of the live album and Milan was their next stop. (Album which is great by the way! I envy you guys who have been to that gig!) _________________
