I read at some sites that jay kay is'nt his real name. Anyone know anything about it?

his first name is Jason, Jay is a kind of a pet name or nickname.
His mother is called Karen Kay. I'm not sure if that's here original last name or if it comes from merrige. but his father abondened her before Jay was born, so maybe he got his mother's last name instead of his father's last name.

Karen wasn't married to Jay's father, was she? He's Portugese, and I seem to recall hearing something about him meeting his dad for the first time a year or two ago.
Jay Kay is just about as phat a name as one can come by, I believe (although, I must say Julian Casablancas is a close rival). I wish my name were half as cool. |

well, Jay Kay is really cool  My complete name is Cathaysa, rare, huh? It's rare for spanish people too, it's from canary :p Everybody calls me Thay. My second name is Iana, it's rare too... :p
Last year, my friends were calling me Thay Bee... but JK is more cool..
Oh, they used to call me Fungus Thay too, hahaha...

You´re right. Cathaysa Iana is a really strange name for a Spainish girld!
Hi Jan! Dave Cave is really cool too.
When I´m in England everybody call me G, (wich I like very much, by the way)
And of ocurse his real name is Jason Kay.
Does he have only 1 surname?  |

i read somewhere in internet that Jay's real name is Jason Cheetman. I don't know if Kay is the real name of the mother, or it's an art name.

I don't think Kay is an adopted name. Afterall, if she picked it, why would she pick another name with a K? The name Karen Kay seems a little awkward to me. Not bad, but not something you'd necessarily choose. Sorry Karen!
I think his real name is Jason Kay. That's not so hard to believe, is it?

Man, that´s strange, becouse I rode hundreds of interviews and I havn´t find anything about this stuff.
Cheetman? geeeeee! If it´s the true name I can understand why his mother changed it. Kay is cooler.
