*NEW JAMIROQUAI ALBUM in progress - ALL NEWS HERE*
Here a quote from the latest newsletter from jamiroquai.com, as a reminder:
| Quote: |
Hi everyone,
The sun is starting to shine and the good vibes are starting to flow again. But check the TV news and it feels like the end of the world is just around the corner. Remember Emergency On Planet Earth? OK, not gonna say, “Told you so”, but…..
Well, I’m sure you don’t need us to tell you about epidemics, economic meltdown & collapsing world trade – so, how about some positive news for once?
Well, how about a story about a dog getting rescued from a manhole?
Or, if that doesn’t cheer you up, how about watching a parrot with some great dance moves – YouTube
And if neither of those cheer you up, how about the news that Jamiroquai are now back in the studio, recording a new album! Jay is really pleased with the way the album is shaping up and we should hopefully hear the first tracks soon.
So, keep smiling, keep dancing, and we’ll bring you more news as it happens!

I'm sure loads of people heard it from Derricks interview yesterday (cheers for recording it Meike), but in response to the question about when the album would be out, he said...
"No, there's no release date yet, ummm, so... I reckon it'll be next year... middle of next year. Which is going to coincide with a tour"
Q:
Are you with the same record label, or have you changed record labels?
A:
We've changed now, so we've gone into Universal now which is kind of cool. So, I think it's a turning point in Jamiroquai as a bands career. Just to kind of turn the corner and experiment a bit more with a few more things, musically, you know. I'm looking forward to touring as well, so... should be good fun. _________________

From lafly's post in the YouTube thread:
Interview with Rob, Paul and Derrick - December 2009
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13NWf0Jr9hQ
The main points:
- In the second half of the interview, Derrick says the album is finished.
- Talking about the recording process, Rob says the album is less computer based than previous efforts and that it's a bit closer to the older style of the band, but at the same time sounds nothing like the older style.
- Paul says the album may be out during spring (northern hemisphere) at the soonest (no earlier than four months into 2010). _________________

Jay’s older. His writing and singing will be closer to what we know of him now. However – musically it’ll have the feel of the older albums without sounding like a retread. Live instruments and light on the additional electronic embellishments. |

some jay´s words:
| Quote: |
"Hi Everybody, just wanted to say how amazing it is to have so many Friends on Facebook, half a million I believe. Therefore it feels like the right time to let you know that we are alive and kicking and in the final stages of our 8th album. I really can't wait to get out there and play it for you live in the very near future. Sending you all lots of good luck and love, Jay"
