Your favorite albums nobody else really knows of...
Post one every day! For today:
Bennie Maupin, "Slow Traffic to the Right". Check out "Eternal Flame", especially - it's got a slick, fat, funky killer bassline in G dorian that's really simple to play. |

Love dorian mode!!!! Should go into it, will tell my bass teacher
Anyway, an album I really like and nobody knows it's called "La Dieta Del Lagarto", from Chancho En Piedra, a really unknown Chilean funk-rock group. Maybe someone here from South America could know them, but here in Italy they have really few fans.

Sorry i had to laugh because imp from Australia, to be specific Melbourne. Here it’s all rock and roll, punk, metal etc (i.e. ACDC, that what it all sounds like to me) not that i hate rock but most people that are not musicians here look at you in this surprised way when you mention a name like Jill scott, Raphael saadiq or Erykah badu.
Anyway to the point, the albums which im listening to which no one else really does know that well would be
1) Prince's 1994 album COME
2) Prince's 1980's album THE BLACK ALBUM
3) Kid confusions’ (an Australian hip hop soul band) there first 2 albums KID CONFUSIOUS & STRIPES (there latest album is really Sh*T in my opinion) and finally
4) Anything by Roy Hargrove and the RH factor (3 albums in total)
5) King Britt: King Brit presents SYLK 130 WHEN THE FUNK HITS THE FAN |

Freddie Hubbard - "Life Flight". No joke, this record taught me how to improvise. |

4hero - Parallel Universe. Widely regarded as the first d'n'b album ever made. Beautiful dark synth sounds with purring bass and rimshots. Brilliant album. _________________ Bass to jazz.... j-j-j-jazz to bass... |
