A new fan
Hi! This is my first time writing here and I hope I can be here more often. Let me tell you I think is great to contribute with this huge fans community. I wrote MSN directions and now I have a lot of “cyber-friends”...and I discovered a few here in my country, Argentina.
And now, I have several questions that I would love if you, Jamirofan2000 (thanks for the “Funk Odyssey” & “Cannabliss” lyrics, by the way), CosmicMouse, etc could answer me (actually, I have them in my mind since a long time ago, and I didn’t know who to ask them). Here I go:
-What does Jay say at the end of “Destitute Illusion”?
-Why in some countries at the back cover of “Synkronized” ir appears with the name “Destitute Illusions”?
-Why did the buffalo man change in 1997? (watch the legs)
-How is the real name of the track “Getinfunky”? (Is it Getting Funk? Get In Funky? Getin’ Funk?)
-Why there are two different covers of “A Funk Odyssey”?
-Is it true that the drums in “Feel So Good” are electronic?
-Where can I get the extended versions of “Twenty Zero One” & “Stop Don’t Panic” on the internet?
-The track “Our Time Is Coming” is a cover?
-Why did the graphic design of the word “Jamiroquai” change in ”A Funk Odyssey”? (I ask this because I don’t like it)
-I want to know if somebody else noticed that in the first two albums, the “U” in Jamiroquai is different from the “U” in the word “Jamiroquai” of “Travelling Without Moving” and “Sykronized”. Why is that?!
-Also I found out that in the cover of “Synkronized”, if you look very very carefully there are several rocks repeated. Is very weird.
-The chorus of “Twenty Zero One” is “ 2001: what has this life become”?
-What’ s the diference between “Main Vein” and “Main Vein (no samples)”?
-The track “Feel So Good” is called like that or “Feels So Good”?
I hope you can refresh my ideas (perhaps some of the questions are stupid, but I need to know). In a next post I will tell you some things about me, so you can know me better. And now I’m leaving. I will appear here any time soon, so goodbye!

wow...
Thats alot of questions and Jeez are you observant! I wouldnt haven noticed those things at all.
I think that i can answer a couple but not all.
Firstly At the end of destitute illusions Jay says
"Destitute Illusions - right before your eyes" Someone told me that anyway
With the covers of AFO they change if ur buying a CD or Cassette or the Vinyl. Its got Jay in different poses on it. I dont know if that is exactly what your hitting at though.
The track is called 'Feel so good' but the lyrics say 'feels so good'
About the rocks in the synkronized albumn and the 'U' i dont think that they are major changes. Every band alters things about the appearance of their products. Its marketing i spose.
But, Jamiroquai are obviously about the music and with me and i'm sure many others- what they do with their covers or text doesnt matter as long as they are still pumping that funky sound which i am sure is what attracted you here in first place
So keep playing those songs and groove your body
ciao bella

You certainly do have lots of questions! (lots of questions I'm afraid I don't have the answers to). I just wanted to say, welcome to jamirotalk, and I hope you continue to ask the hard questions!
Cheers. |

Oooh, questions, I like answering questions!

Er.. what Simone said!
-Why in some countries at the back cover of “Synkronized” ir appears with the name “Destitute Illusions”?
Hmmm, never really thought about that, I always thought it was just Illusions
-Why did the buffalo man change in 1997? (watch the legs)
Designers, I guess, they like to mess with things a lot
-How is the real name of the track “Getinfunky”? (Is it Getting Funk? Get In Funky? Getin’ Funk?)
I assume Getin' Funky (as in Getting Funky). Hmm, that's a hard one.
-Why there are two different covers of “A Funk Odyssey”?
I think there's actually 3. The pose changes for each format. But now I think about it, there were 4 formats (CD, Vinyl, Cassette and MD). Hmmm.
-Is it true that the drums in “Feel So Good” are electronic?
So I've been told. I'm sure somebody else can confirm that.
-Where can I get the extended versions of “Twenty Zero One” & “Stop Don’t Panic” on the internet?
Hmm, if Kazaa isn't helping, I'm sure there's some lovely Jami fans out there who can help you out. Jami fans like to share
-The track “Our Time Is Coming” is a cover?
Yep, Roy Ayers original.
-Why did the graphic design of the word “Jamiroquai” change in ”A Funk Odyssey”? (I ask this because I don’t like it)
You have a keen eye for detail. Who knows?
-I want to know if somebody else noticed that in the first two albums, the “U” in Jamiroquai is different from the “U” in the word “Jamiroquai” of “Travelling Without Moving” and “Sykronized”. Why is that?!
See above answer :-p
-Also I found out that in the cover of “Synkronized”, if you look very very carefully there are several rocks repeated. Is very weird.
Probably made the image look "better" for the sake of the packaging.
-The chorus of “Twenty Zero One” is “ 2001: what has this life become”?
I didn't think 2001 had a chorus as such!
-What’ s the diference between “Main Vein” and “Main Vein (no samples)”?
, anyone who knows about the conversations from MIRC #Jamiroquai will know what I think about this question! I still have no proper answer, it might have something to do with horns.
-The track “Feel So Good” is called like that or “Feels So Good”?
Simone answered that. |
Hope that might have helped in some way, took me an awfully long time to answer those questions!

Well....first of all, I want to thank the people who tried to answer my difficult? questions. I know there are 3 different covers of "A Funk Odyssey" (actually, they're in the book of the album), what I'm trying to say is that I have a version (where is also "Do It Like We Used To Do"), where the lights are different (not so thin), Jay looks......fat. And when I look to the actual photo, you can see that it has been digitally touched. I can't explain. I will find the way to show it.
About "Twenty Zero One": in the lyrics of the album, the phrase "What has this life become" doesn't appear. I figured it out by watching the DVD Live In Verona.
I know that maybe some of the questions are stupid but don't worry, I have more questions:
// Why the lyrics of 'Scam' doesn't appear in the album? (at least in my album, they aren't there)
// 'Snooze You Lose' was recorded after or before 'Synkronized'?
// Jay keeps thanking 'Cassius' in the albums, is he the one who directed the videos 'High Times' and 'Supersonic' (Coleman) or is he the french artist? Ar they the same person?
// Can somebody tell what 'King For A Day' talks about?!
And that is all by now. Keep funkin'! and thank you all! |
