45 second audio clip of Jam "HS" cover!!!
Hello, :bm_r:
Just a quick update on the Jam cover of "Hollywood Swinging", great news! David over at Frenchiroquai.com as posted a 45 second Realaudio clip of "HS", and boy, from what I heard, it SOUNDS TIGHT AS HECK!!! Also more good news, there has been a confirmed UK release date for the double Kool & the Gang cover album "Odyssey" for May 10th 2004, so nothing but good news ! Here's a link to the news item with the clip :

Boy, I can't fathom how good the whole song must sound like! Though kind of weird of JK to use a vocalizer for his voice, sort of a alien sound to my ears ! Anyway, enjoy the clip and let's hope the whole mother comes online soon ! Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

It doesnt sound all that great to me at all...the live version of Jami had a lot more swing to it, and what is it with that weird synth chord progression? Drums are too loud, en the bass sounds like it needs some new strings... Hmmz _________________ The name's Rob, just Rob |

I have to agree with Funkie Junkie... this sounds very odd to me. I liked the live version better. |

Chill, man, chill
It'll be worth the wait for you. Usually, I hate it when Jam goes with the drum machines, but for this track, I'll make an exception. To tell you the truth, and this may be blasphemy for some people, I like this studio version better than the live one I found on one of the FTPs.
Yes, I'm know I'm crazy..... _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. It really does. Otherwise, I have to be honest, I can see a situation where...there is a possibility that you become lost in the annals of acid jazz history." -- Jason Kay |
