Is it normal?
I had the discussion with funkynicki last week when I met her for the Candycream concert:
Is it normal that Jay (almost) never introduces his band to the audience?

i think it is a little unusual that he doesn't introduce other bandmembers all the time or even shout-out when someone was doing a solo like rob for example...i think it would show respect and unity in a band when they introduce the bandmembers or give props to some bandmembers... then again maybe it doesn't bother them but who really knows
does anyone here recall from a concert gig in italy back in spring of this year, at the end of show before the band exit...one of them (i forgot who it was) introduce each bandmember and then they left, i thought that was a sweet moment
at the end of the day, jamiroquai can't exist without a band and they can't exist without their original frontman  |

It's at the end of the song, after 5 min 30 seconds.
Sola introduces the band and, given his surprised reaction and slightly annoyed look, Jay obviously didn't expect that and I always had the feeling Sola did this just to "remind" Jay he never introduces the band... But that's just my interpretation! |

The funny thing is that Sola forgot to introduce Rob...
Jay told him this is one of the reason he usually doesn't do that!
I also remember some pics of the AFO era (Knebworth '01 I think) where you can see the name of the chorists written on Jay's hand... So that he could remember their name I guess!
By the way, I don't think the boys need this, but it would be nice anyway to introduce them, 'cause whatever Jay or the contract says they are Jamiroquai!

oh snap!! hahaha the face of mr Kay, well done Sola! and i think he forgot Rob cause he just went to the right (from camera view spoken) when sola looked towards the other side
well to me i do believe it should be done really, ofcourse there's a front man in a band, normal, however he's not on his own doing the show u know

I think Jay looked surprised because he had no idea where the voice was coming from at first, caught him off guard. No bad vibes there. |

it does looks like jay was caught off guard by it but no harm was done by what sola did and i don't think jay would get upset about that |

I don't think that the other band members really care about this. For us, the fans, they know that we really admire them. For example, in the last gig in Buenos Aires we use to shout "Rob, Rob, Rob!" or "Paul Paul Paul!" |
