Slap man was scary.
I think Space man should come to the gig - he would love RDLS. _________________ All Hail the King |

yes..OT man is great. Brings us back in line.
Anyway - love BS. It's a nice, optimistic song. Agree that for the first release it doesn't have "hit" written all over it. It's not commercial - will be interesting to see UK chart position - I'm going to predict a number 8 spot.
Anyway, when you've sold so many records worldwide do you want a hit or a song with integrity? Don't sell out to the god of gold .

Going back to Rusty and Kitty Kat (winterkat) thoughts on promotion.
How about a little inhouse promotion?
We're listening to Heart today in my office. I noticed you can rate the song on their website:

I posted:
"I adore it! Keep on playing!"
I thought that sounded like just a person who is listening to radio rather than a big fan! ha!
Let's get those airplays up!!! _________________ All Hail the King |

Yeah, it's poor and all. What surprises me, though, are the justifications of the release I've seen on some funkin.com comments. Fans saying that this is "more marketable", or that "acid jazz isn't marketable anymore get over it!11" etc. Well, three things:
1) "Acid jazz" (I suppose the expression refers to 90s English funk) has never been that marketable, Jamiroquai being a very strange exception;
2) Jamiroquai has given up what could be called "acid jazz" with some stretch on album 2 — or you mean to tell me that you'd put any Brand New Heavies or Incognito album in the same sack of TROTSC? I know I wouldn't. And it's fine that they moved on to another style (less funky and structured, more mellow and complex), as long as they keep making good music, be it house, reggae or disco.
3) Most importantly: if "being marketable" is that much of an issue for you, you're following the wrong band. I still haven't got how Jamiroquai became such a success by listening to their first three and best albums. They've swam against the tide all these years. And that's really brave, but it's only good because they were swimming in the right direction. (As opposed to what they did with these three new songs.)
On a sider note... I just remembered Heidi Heiss this morning, from the old Jamiroquai.com forum. The website was run by Seadon Adams from the US, right? And there was this troller (or perhaps just retarded) girl that would type in the most absurdly garbled fashion. I remembered her this morning and then just couldn't stop laughing. I mean, for a while. Then I stopped. |

That's the one!
I shouted a torrent of abuse at the computer when I couldn't find it, convinced that it had secretly been deleting my files from the hard drive. Then I realised I was searching audio from 2006. Idiot. _________________ May the wind always be at your back, and the sun upon your face...
