New Jamiroquai 'Tour Smart Promotion Posters' @ Gigs
buffaloman_R Hello, buffaloman_R

Jamiroquai news, I know, as of late has been hard to come by, but I came across something neat. Doesn't appear to have been reported about yet, but it appears Jamiroquai will be doing some new 'smartphone connect' gimmick with their impending Nov. live tour utilizing Near Field Communications smart posters at their gigs to give fans a chance to enter a contest of some sort, here is a link to the newsitem about it, pretty cool idea and as always, Jamiroquai trying to stay 'technologically ahead of the curve...

Arrow http://www.online-news-today.com/7841/jamiroquai-to-connect-with-fans-using-near-field-communication-smart-posters

Cheers!

Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

It's that dot matrix thing found on adverts thesedays. Also you would think Jquai would have an app anyway!

This could be the software used: http://www.megamobilecontent.com/freeware/Aircell-Smartphone/jamiroquai-i71856/

try the dot matrix bar code on your smartphone & let me know as I dint have one Wink

They're called QR Codes and all they really do is embed web links, phone numbers, etc. Pretty easy to make. This one points to http://www.jamirotalk.net for example:

That one in your link Russ points to something on the Android Market that's no longer available...

Near Field Communication is something a bit different though and uses wireless tech to do data transfer and stuff when your device is within range.

Yeah its found on clothing & food items etc.

Humans will have them as tattoos soon! Laughing

Actually, that's a good idea! Idea

Anyway, it's a competition so will see at Oberhausen unless the code emerges online before then?
