I've achived to get some of the tracks and the remixeson the forthcoming cd:

This is how the final song should have sounded. IMO much better than the original
This one is really good too (music sounds like Chromeo, very 70's sounding)

...mostly that, from a crazy collector point of view, I don't rate these CD-Rs very much. Universal (or Sony or whoever) have the tracks on their servers, they burn CDs, print a regular jacket and that's it. They can print 50 different versions, with tracks in different orders, skipping this or that track... There's no "added value" or any real interest in collecting these.
These CD-Rs will never be worth the specially pressed promo CDs we used to have beforehand (and which kinda died during the lifespan of Dynamite). Same goes for the promo 12" which used to be real gems... It's a pity they don't bother pressing these anymore (but I understand CD-Rs are quicker, cheaper and easier to send out... It just misses the magic!) |

Plus also the media they burn to are not the same as retail CDs, so you're gonna need to make a new copy within about three years or risk losing the data altogether - collectors pieces they aint, for all the reasons you're saying. But people who don't know any better get mugged online by people who get sent them for nothing and want to make some easy money.
Like you say that was fine back in the day when the items were more desirable and would last but now it's a really foolish game to play. |
