I kinda do wish he sang about something other than women and flings all the time I've also realized that off the top of my head, She's a Fast Persuader is the only song off this album that has that unique "Jamiroquai sound" that they can call their own.
To me, the rest sound like songs from the 70's that Jay is doing a cover of Take this for instance: Lifeline sounds like It Ain't Over Til It's Over by Lenny Kravitz (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rqte5w257C4). That's not me being cynical or dissing the album, I freakin' LOVE the song snippets!! It's just my observation, that's all |
yes...you are rigth....i feel some Lenny influence in other songs in this album.....i like it. Anyway....lenny has overmuch influnce that sometimes steals a lot _________________ Jamiro - ROCKS!! - |

I completely agree, and that's due to the harmony, which has always been their best merit. But don't you think Two Completely Different Things kinda points to their trademark sound as well? Think SDSJ and Falling. |
Yes, you are right! I can tell this is all obviously Jamiroquai. It's just that for the first time, the sound is so different (yet familiar) that it kinda struck me that it sounded as if these songs were lifted straight from another time period and it could be anyone singing these, not just Jay haha! I guess the easiest way to say what I mean is that with this album, I can REALLY hear some influences and similarities to other artists/songs, even from just the 30 second samples. I get MJ vibes, Stevie Wonder vibes, Lenny Kravitz vibes...Jay really meant it when he said he was going back to the old school _________________ If it ain't no natural law, then you can keep your regulations. I don't believe in the Lenny influence. Why would jay be influenced by someone that came along later in his career. Stevie, yes. Lenny, no |

Lifelin, Hurting an Never gonna be another.....Angeline and the acoustic version of All good in the hood.....the bass line, guitar riffs....some drums rythm and sound.....i don't know....maybe i am wrong _________________ Jamiro - ROCKS!! - |

A rough transcription:
Standing on the wall – she’ll be standing into you
I love it when you get on down – and work me babe
On your knees – once again: she’s a fast persuader – outer space |
To come back to your original question, Jamarcus...
although I am not a man, I like filthy lyrics like those. I think it's because it's not my native language. When I imagine those words in my own language I think I wouldn't like it - but in english it's ok.
I also like Radio and FJLIS lyrics...
Haha, and mr.az... I like your soundtrack idea, putting all the pervy songs on a playlist and having a wild night! (I don't find nasty smilies that fit in our list...)

I can't get enough of this snippet I wanna sing along to it...but I also wanna drum out the bassline on my steering wheel at the same time (I put the snips on my iPod) so it's hard to do both at once!! Definitely sounds like something out of Synkronized or Traveling Without Moving. 14 more days (or less!) _________________ If it ain't no natural law, then you can keep your regulations. Best track I've heard from the band for AGES. With the spooky intro, with the ska horns in the beginning, the ending jam, Rob's riff, Sola in the back, this single track is making worth purchasing the album

I really dig the tune. By far, the best. But the lyrics are horrible. They are just too dirty, and I hate it when he says "work me babe on your knees". It blows the tune completely!
This song diserved lyrics about space, moon, something galactic, not this pornographic adventure with this nasty woman.
Jay ma friend this kind of lyrics are for brain empty hip hop guys and mtv artificial teenagers .. not for jamiroquai |

Now y'all are deciding what they should sing in their songs. People on here really have no shame
