Hopefully 2012 for US or late 2011. I'd imagine as soon as the album comes out they'd hit the road. Can't wait to tour for too long after releases... |

Really, they can't determine the actual tour until they see how well the album is received.
But we wait patiently and hopefully our time will come! |

Yes, my fellow Jamily sisters and brothers from the other side of the big pond, I really wish you Jamiroquai to visit the Americas for an extended tour.
I've heard them last time in Tienen/Belgium and they were in a great form!
@HoneyBee:
I don't think that the reception of the new album influences too much the realisation of a world tour. You know, there are many popular bands out there, who release every 3-4-5 years a new album and do a world tour, although almost nobody is interested in their new stuff, as long as they play their old tunes well.
I've been to some of such gigs:
- Santana (before he gained new major popularity with "Supernatural"): Man, one of the best gigs I've ever been!
- Jethro Tull: I didn't even know the new tunes, as long as they played their hits with heart and soul, the audience was happy.
- The Rolling Stones: People were bored with the new tunes, but when they played their classics, the audience was heating up!
...
You know, it's hard to say, but JMQ are getting old, the 20th anniversary is approaching!
Instead of bothering about radical new sounds, which is in fact a contradiction, because JMQ was always a 1970's retro band with some 1990's influences, they should stick to the styles they know best, unless JK and the boys are sick of those due to saturation.
If this last thing were true, they should simply retire! _________________

Yeah, maybe for older groups it really doesn't matter about the new music. But I think Jamiroquai are definitely trying to produce a good album. Not sure about Tull & Stones. (But do think Santana tries)
JMQ only toured to my state once - 1999. (or so I read!)
I would think if their sales show support here in the U.S. then they'll tour.
And I would think their popularity determines how many venues they'll play, or size of arenas. Maybe not.
I'd hate to have to travel to see them when everybody else I like comes here! (I am spoiled) |

Ophone is precisely right.
Popularity does determine how many people will look for their gigs in your country (assuming you're from united states).
Jamiroquai is trying to make money, they tried to make good albums on their first 5 tries, after AFO was released and jay's $120 million wealth was consolidated, they're looking to multiply it. Dynamite showed me nothing besides Time Won't Wait that didn't even made it into the final album and i will throw money at the window if Rock Dust Light Star is definitely a try to make a decent album... Seriously, give me a break.
Although even being immersed inside all this musical crap, we still might find some good surprises, blue skies live version, for example. _________________ At the speed of cheeba, you and I go deeper... |

Agree with both Ophone & Iranterres. Popularity, and record sales both determine tour. |

Actually, I think America only kinda remembers Jamiroquai.
They may be perceived as a new band.
And this music has to make it here and get airplay. Waiting...
I played the new album for friends over Thanksgiving, and they liked it.
But funny, one guy said "Black or White"?
I said "you tell me"!
He guessed "Black"! I just smiled. |
