It's an awesome tune! I don't understand WHY it does not feature on the regular album...it's one of the best and original jamiroquai track ever which has the feeling of the 90's albums!!
Fortunately, it does on the Deluxe version! |
fortunately!
hang it over with you, baby! _________________

Sorry if I have to disappoint you, but this ain't no bebop. It's more what Meike says, some kind of Dixie Land Jazz.

I agree! Hang it Over is near Dixie land to bebop! _________________ "People find it's hard to be strong, cos' they don't know where they're coming from" |

I can't put a name to the genre 'cause i'm not much in those styles, only as a passerby, but for me it sounds like Magical Trick Society, a Japanese band who plays instrumental jazz. The big difference here, of course, is that someone (Jay) is singing here. And what a way to sing! Awesome tempo marking the syllabes. Is pretty cool.
I love it!
But I'd love more if it was the whole thing in jazz/beebop/dixie or wathever the sound is that. _________________

I really dig the end of the song after the break at 3:05, when it goes more into funk style than Charleston/ New Orlans Cabaret 30s.
