Hi you all!
My little boy has been in hospital for 2 weeks so I havent had the energy yet to write a review... but YESS I did manage to go to the Ahoy on the 13th!!! Never thought it would happen because times have been so hard... Tuesday the 12th I asked my cousin (with who I was gonna go) have you allready got a replacement for me... but that same evening we got some relieving news so I did decided to go!! JMQ is my nr 1 band and they have picked me up so many times during hard times the last 18 years... they are my lifeline... so how could I not go now news on my little one was a bit better...
Anyway... normally we would be in one of the front rows somewhere but this time we couldn't... we got a place at the side close to the way out in the middle of the arena, so when it didnt feel good about it or if I did get a phonecall I could leave very quickly (it was in the same town where the hosp is at)!!
But that spot never again thought... never knew how many people walk up and down there during the concert!?! And never knew how many people just cant stop talking!? They act like they are in a pub or something... at one point I got a bit annoyed (during space cowboy!!) and shusshed them but they didnt take any notice!!
But I don't know how I managed but throughout the whole concert I danced and sang!! I cried and smiled... I felt warm and cold... OHHH what a night... Just loved every second of it! They were amazing! The new arrangements were amazing... Jay was amazing... never thought he was ill the night before! The band, the brass, the girls, the stage, the planets, the vids... it was perfect!! Shame they didnt play Lifeline thought but Hurting (the song I have to admit I do skip now and then) sounded absolutely brilliant! What a life version!! Allright, another one... keyboards wow!!! And then Space cowboy, what a treat!!! Oh... there were so many highlights, the whole concert was!!!
We left 5 minutes before the end... because I didnt wanna be in traffic to much so I could get back to the hospital pretty quick... so we walked throught the bands busses at the back and guess what happened... There was a bus waiting by de backstagedoor, motor running lights on... And at the second we got there a guy came running out and jumped in the driver seat... and right behind him there was Jay... running... hat still on... and he jumped in the bus so I shouted 'JAY!!!' he looked around, I said... 'I LOVE YOU!!!' and waved him a kiss... and then he waved back... and then the door closed and the bus drove off!!!!
Oh... we laughed and cried... we 40'ers felt like 18 again haha... what a night... what a lovely sweet cherry on the cake... what a bonus for having to be in such a rubbish spot all night and having to leave early and not being able to look forward to the concert because all of the trauma I ve been throught with my little one... it just had to happen like this...
Thank you Jay for giving us that second... it really made my night!!
Would have liked to have a big cuddle thought haha... _________________ You still blow my mind...

Ouu what an emotional review, petra!!! Thanks so much!!
I can imagine how you must have felt... years ago I had a similar experience when my little boy was in hospital with Meningitis some days before "my" jamiroquai gig. It was the same - he got better just in time and I could go to the gig in the end.
Thanks again for sharing your story!! Keep those good vibes and stay positive!! All the best for your little boy!!

Petra, I had goosebumps reading your text. I am sending as many healing vibes as possible to your little one.
It is nice to know that the gig was able to give you such a great outlet for your emotions and you got to see Jay afterwards. Music is like a comfy blanket you wrap around your shoulders when you feel down. Jamiroquai sure feels like the comfiest of all blankets! _________________ *Meow* |

It's frustrating. Sometimes when I was visiting a non-Jamiroquai gig I decided to go a little bit to the back to have better sound, but all the people talking... very annoying! I can imagine how it felt.
Thanks for your review. |
