U.S. Release Date For RDLS Pushed Up A Week?!?
Hello,
Though I have already pre-ordered my Japanese Deluxe Edition of RDLS, it appears, though I might be 'jumping the gun slighty', that the U.S. release of the new album has been pushed up a week . According to Amazon.com, 'Rock Dust Light Star', all formats in import have been pushed up to a release date of November 9th 2010 . So, is this the 'usual U.S. delayed release date' OR am I wrong? Cheers!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000
P.S. Here's the search listing link on Amazon.com:

Actually it seems now that there won't be ANY physical CD release in the states, that is what I have gathered from a few quick conversations with my friends in the 'American Industry' EXCEPT for the import releases......but I could again be wrong . _________________

We will get an American release. It’ll be delayed likely into early next year. Jamiroquai’s release patterns stateside have us at a delayed disadvantage. Sometimes we get incentives like the live version of Light Years or a song that never had a single release stateside Do You Know Where…
Now I see this as a marketing strategy for their US promo Tour and actual Tour Dates for the states. After all the grief we’ve had over lackluster first songs and a hideous official album cover. |

high times was released on the release date in the US as was the DVD. In fact, I remember the official website ran a bundle price for US customers. |

The US seems to get the shaft when it comes to Jamiroquai _________________ If it ain't no natural law, then you can keep your regulations. 'Cause if I like it, I do it. |

I'm in the US and I pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition from the AmazonUK site with priority shipping. They're still saying that I should have it by Nov.2 or Nov. 3rd.Is this correct? I'm gonna be mad if it's delayed until a week later! |

Well it may date back to Synkronized's release... After te successful TWM release in the US, the next album was totally ignored by the US press, then i might say the band is wary upon releasing dates around there... _________________ At the speed of cheeba, you and I go deeper... |

I totally agree!
I remember knowing some tunes from TWM before we could buy it in the U.S.
I do think the marketing from the last albums were lacking for the U.S.
All I can say is I did not hear of any Jamiroquai albums post TWM.
And I was a huge fan!
Should've definitely been more marketing after TWM at least (Synkronized).
So the question is: Did they ignore the U.S.? Or did the U.S. choose to ignore them? |

Later option (2).
Despite that I was living in New York City when they launched "A Funk Odissey" and I have the impression that there was a good job being done over there and the album was even a top ten at a few stores.
But let's face the truth, the US doesn't accept many things coming from abroad. There are rare exceptions to this case (Coldplay, U2, Taio Cruz).
Robie Williams was almost a god in Europe some years ago and he never made it in the US also. It's a shame to the Music lovers. _________________ Fernando Freire |

Might as well import. I've got the deluxe edition in my cart and it comes to $20.92 from amazon.co.uk shipped to the US with the regular shipping. The import price on the US website is a ripoff. |

AFO was released in the US the exact same day of the Twin Towers attack. |

I rember that! Jay had made a show there one day before the crash.
The funny thing was that, on this same day Michael Jackson was doing a gig in Madison Square and JK said something like "I know that you prefered to be on another gig a few blocks form here." _________________ Fernando Freire |

Open mouth, insert foot! Don't assume we'd rather be at an MJ show.
9-11 was bad timing. But there are other albums that didn't make it to my radio. Or perhaps, each album sounded so different (from TWM) that I just didn't recognize them!

Y'know I was gonna disagree, but I only knew 10 out of the top 40 UK bands!
