New baby and new free music from James Higgins!
Hi Jamily!
It's been such a long time since I've posted here on the forum, but many of you would have been keeping in touch with me on facebook over the last year. There's so much news from down under now!
Soul Continuum is currently taking an extended hiatus from gigging, but we are slowly and carefully crafting a follow up album to "Phoenix to Fox" (2010). At this stage there's no timeline or deadlines we're working toward, but there's a handful of really funky tracks evolving.
I've been taking this time to focus on my new solo project, under the name of The Quick Brown Fox! It's been really exciting and my first solo album is being recorded right now. I already have my debut EP "Where Does Your Apple Grow" out and ready for purchase via my website, but as a special promotion for a limited time I'm giving the main track from that EP away for free.

In other news, my wife Vira and I are expecting our first baby this September, which is pretty damn thrilling for me! I'm so excited about being a father. This was 100% planned and so far the pregnancy has been text-book perfect, our baby appears to be as healthy as they come. We don't know the gender yet, decided to keep it a surprise. Will let you all know when he/she arrives

Once the baby has arrived and settled into the world, I am already starting to plan my first solo tour of Europe and will hopefully look at returning to the EU in Summer 2012. Can you believe it will have been 4 years since the Nude Continuum gig with Jamiroquai? Crazy.
And speaking of Jamiroquai, just to put in my two cents about their new album (since I've been pretty silent on the matter), I absolutely adore it. I think its a faithful return to the fat and funky roots of the band, whilst also moving forward into new exciting directions for them. The playing is phenomenal (particular on Derrick and Paul's part) and there are a number of songs I am hooked on. My favourite track is by far "Hey Floyd", but "Two Completely Different Things" and "Rock Dust Light Star" are up there for me!

Shall I look out for another competition, to bring SoulContinuum to Europe?
