Jamiroquai only for girls and gays?
Hi everyone!
I'm sitting here and procrastinating a bit and then I remembered something a friend told me some years ago: Only girls, gays and musicians like Jamiroquai.
Now I know this might sound silly, but I noticed that all people I know that listen to Jamiroquai are either girls or gays. And I just heard two male musicians talk about about Jamiroquai. So is there really a higher percentage of those three groups listening to Jami? What about this forum and what about your circle of friends?
What do you think, is it true?

Lal this is kinda interesting. I heard people say that to me too, but that was more in a way of them not liking Jamiroquai anyway..
I think the statement is total non-sense.. although the musician-part might be true. |

Some girls and gays I know have a terrible musical taste! But in lots of cases I like what gays and OLD people like.
Jamiroonquai, I heard some people say "Jamirogay" in this context, but to those ppl I just say "talk to the hand"  ) (though they think I mean this from Terminator 3)
Javis, why would only ignorant people say something that?
In my circle of friends it's true!! Dunno about yours ) There are lots of artists who have a bigger gay fellowship than a straight one. And those artists sometimes are not even promoting this. I noticed that disco music in general is more popular with gays nowadays.
Though I also have a gay friend who likes heavy metal. Really not my thing. Maybe if it was a version of Deeper Underground )
I'd love to make a poll of this, but asking about peoples sexuality is not a good idea. It's a very sensitive subject for gays, straights and homophobes |

it's completely false, the fact gays and girls like the band doesnt mean they're the only ones who likes their music. I'm not gay, I'm not a girl, and I'm not musician. so your afirmation "Jamiroquai only for girls and gays" doesn't make sense.
In fact, it's ridiculous, and only ignorant people can say something like that because it's disrespectful and offensive.

I never said ALL.
The color pink is also worn mainly by girls. That doesn't mean that in the past few years a lot of guys wore pink too. And I also am not saying the color should only be for girls!

Generally, a statement like that is only offensive if YOU decide to be offended!
Why do you think it is offensive? Because you are male and not gay and don't want to be put in the category "gay jamiroquai fan?"
Being gay is not an offence. So how can you feel offended?
The only thing you would have to do is, to say that you are NOT gay, but STILL a Jamiroquai fan, so this THEORY can't be relevant. |
