Is this place dead?
The new album has come; no official news on when an evental US release -- and yet there seems to be no energy. No one is posting really -- ever so often a conversation will kick up -- what is it? Why is this place such a ghost town? There was more excitement when we knew nothing. |

I was wondering the same a few days back... it seems everything is happening on facebook these days...setlists photos...I think that´s a big reason. Also lots of people that were really active a few years back are caught up with work, life, family at the moment....I don´t think it has anything to do with the hype about jamiroquai..it´s more about the people and also the new social networks!

For the attention people gave to this place pre-release -- the post-release season is dead. I think the album, the videos, lackluster commercial success, has just killed the mood to hang out here. I left here for awhile because I wasn't buying an import to an album I didn't feel passionately about. I'll support J in the US if a domestic release surfaces here -- just to help the US tour prospects -- which the only reason they're still able to release albums stateside to begin with. |

I'm relatively new to Jamirotalk.. and I guess I should admit I'm kind of bummed as to how long it takes to see a reply or any activity in most/any of the forums. Usually I have to check back every day or 2 to see something new. I just thought it was always like this, though.. didn't know it was a lot more active before. Hopefully it picks up! _________________ www.funkfiction.com |

It'll pick up once the tour starts -- maybe? -- we'll get an album release stateside by the end of the year or the beginning of next. I don't want to wait that long but he hasn't given us a sign on what's going on for an American release. |

Hey,
I remain a huge fan of Jamiroquai!! I believe they are one of the best bands of the last 20 years as far as funk/groove music is concerned. I do get frustrated as a fan from the USA, how much we are starved for some live Jamiro.
I got my only chance in 2005, when they came over for the Dynamite tour. They KILLED! Tight, funky, soulful and fun. I brought a few first-times and they were blown away.
I got the album way back in Dec. from an English friend. I think it's a really good album...I'm not so concerned with them sounding like the past. I just want more good music, and that was delivered.
I really hope they come over and push there music. America has few bands doing what they do, and it's needed here. We have a lot of CRAPPY music going around.
I'm in a funk/rock band and Jamiroquai has been a definite influence on us. As much for their vibe and professionalism as musicians, as for their music.
Peace

i don't think people can afford alot of whats going on lately aswell as it being on facebook mostly. It has also been a lacklustre promotion & people don't seem to get as excited anymore as there is always the next thing. _________________

It's active when something new is out!

But what would be great if Jamiroquai hit the U.S. like a new market.
I think everybody would think they're a new band.
I could definitely use some new music on the radio. |
