Hmm... strange. Wrong setup? How big is the venue? |

I was standing beside Meike.. and yes, it was a massive vibrating-shacking hardcore bass |

Just returned home. Review during next week..
But mainly - I am highly disappointed by Jay as he never ever introduced the band or single one band member. It seemed like Jamiroquai are no more the band. But strange is that the performance of the band itself was better than JKs (in my opinion of course!).. |

I am back too. Have already uploaded pics to facebook, but will do here as well soon!!
Will work on my review as soon as possible!
It was a pleasure to meet P, Viktor and Alyona and many other dedicated fans. I have spread some flyers and hope to welcome some of them here soon!
Viktor, I get your point and agree! The band is on top! Jay is not the main attraction for me as well. I love to see the whole package and it is about time to give the band more credits. Just to show some respect for the great job they are doing! A little introduction at the end of the gig would be such a sign I am always waiting for from Jay.

and so good that they got hurting in the setlist a bit more now it seems ? ( sorry evy ) _________________ "Here it is...there is no way to make it better " |

Here we go... another review from CosmicMouse
When I arrived at the O2 World in Berlin at 5.15 pm a few fans were already waiting at the entrance. Familiar faces.. I remember some guys from the Hamburg gig. I pass along some jamirotalk flyers. One fan is telling me that he and his friend have been at the venue at 12 o'clock! .. and I thought some of us are crazy!! I hope he comes here and register - this is the right place for such dedicated fans.
Anyways, this was the first time I didn't RUN for the first row. When the doors opend I was still outside at the box office, trying to get an aftershow pass for a meet and greet later. There were some complications, but in the end I got two passes.
I then went to the toilet, got something to eat and drink (woaaah, expensive!!!) and went to the merchandise. I bought a tour programm and as it was kind of big, I also bought such a jamiroquai bag.
Finally I went into the hall and saw that the first 2 rows were already full, at least the best places in the middle. I was looking out for familar faces, searching for Philipp and Viktor, but couldn't see anyone. Instead I was watching some fans with crazy hats, was spreading some flyers to jamily-looking people and talked to some people. Very international audience from different countries! I like that! This reminded me of our international Jamily meetings in London for example!
I also met Alyona from Russia! She recognized me - she has had an account here at jamirotalk but hasn't posted yet. But this is going to chance, I hope...This was her first Jamiroquai gig, so she now has a lot to tell.
When I later met Philipp and his sister, we managed to get into the second row on the left side of the stage. When the gig started I even stood in front row because suddenly there was some more space. Yay, front row again!
Penguin Prision were the support act. Not bad, but also not mindblowing... but at least way better to see a live band instead of a DJ, like it was in Hamburg.
After some more waiting finally the curtain fell, and the band plus Jay were already on their places on the stage!
(Whereas in Hamburg the curtain has fallen earlier, before the band entered!)
The gig started like in Hamburg with Rock Dust Light star, followed from Main Vein and Cosmic Girl.
I put in my earplugs - holy shit, this was loud!! I am used to loud gigs, especially when standing in front of speakers, but this was SO loud... even with the earplugs... The instruments were kind of melting together to one big loud mess for my ears. I tried to enjoy it and had still fun in the front row... but after a while I decided to leave the place.
I was happy that the setlist was different from the Hamburg one, so I got to hear some other tracks like Smoke & Mirrors, YGMS, Hurtin and SpaceCowboy. I think the rest was nearly the same, although some arrangements were slightly different if I remember it right.
Smoke & Mirrors was ok. Reminded me a lot to the normal album version. Was great to hear it live.
You give me something was not really my taste... but then again, it could be the loudness and the bad sound in the front which ruined it for me.
Also, Hurtin didn't give me the expected kick... I was hoping for an extended end with Paul and Rob rocking along, but no...
Then Little L... I love this new version with Pauls crazy bassline! I really digged this one!
I also like the Canned Heat version of this tour! But again, it was so loud that I started to be frustrated. After they finished CH I packed my stuff and went to the back. Just in time it seems, because they now started Deeper Underground!!! Even when I was in the back of the hall every single hair was vibrating from the bass, everyone on the backseats, far away from the stage, was holding his ears... so so so loud!!!
I escaped to the toilet, where the sound level was just right! Hahaha!!!
It's a shame to go to the toilet during a Jamiroquai gig? ... naah, it was Deeper Underground, you know...?
I was back when Space Cowboy started. Wow, a completely new experience for me... NOT in the front row, but in the middle of 8000 happy dancing people! Wonderful atmosphere, everywhere, on the seats in the back, in the middle... everyone was dancing and singing along!!!
You could literally feel the good vibes in the hall... pure happiness!
I was an awesome Space Cowboy version! Loved it so much!!
During Love Foolosophy I was walking around in the hall, trying to find a good place with good sound. Best sound was in the middle of the venue, or even more back. And the view on the stage has been amazing from far!
Travelling was a great version as well! Followed by All Good In The Hood!
This is meanwhile one of my favourites on the new album!
During Alright there were two girls on stage, dancing with the band! Funny and entertaining moment.
Then the band left the stage.... it took very long until they returned for White Knuckle Ride.
No band introduction, unfortunately... ..sad, but to be honest I didn't expected it anyways - Jay hasn't done it since 2 years or so?!
The gig was over. I was kinda glad that I decided to leave the front row. It was a different experience. But still, this whole front row thing gives me the kick.. I guess next time I will still be in the front again...
Alyona and me got backstage later and met some of the bandmembers for a little chat. That was a nice end of the evening. Very special and funny.
Rob was wondering where I had been disappeared during the concert - he had spotted me at the beginning and later I was suddenly away!
I said: well... Deeper Underground... what do you expect? We keep joking around with this one, I think they are also a bit tired of playing DU at the gigs...lol
Paul was indeed not as hairy as last one, you spotted that right Sandra! I was asking him too where his hair has gone, he said he did shave it for the gig, but it is growing back so fast!!!
We spoke shortly to Derrick as well, and we managed to give them some presents from other fans who didn't make it backstage and sent greetings.
Very sweet... Rob gave me his plectrum from the gig as a present for my son Mika who is playing guitar himself!
The boys left then and went to the tourbus for a long travel through the night to Brussels. And I started my drive back home too. I was kinda tired but managed to stay awake with "All Good In The Hood" on loop. This one keeps me grooving on my seat and time flies. I was home at 3.30 am and my little girl was awake and waiting for me...
Thanks to everyone I met, you all made this night very special and unforgettable!!!
Hope to read more reviews!! I am sure I forgot some things to tell!

About 2 hours... maybe some minutes less. Kind of short... one or two songs more would have been great. |

Pictures!
Sorry, not so many pics from the gig... my standing position was not so good. Jay was always too fast - whenever I was ready to make a pic he turned around and was away...
