Let Me Believe
Thanks to Jamirofan's latest post in the LINKS section, I just discovered this great early recording of LET ME BELIEVE. It's the first time I've ever heard the song, and I must say I've fallen in love.

If you don't know the track, it's an early version of Manifest Destiny... the music is the same, a little less developed, but the lyrics are completely different. You need to download this now!

What does everyone think about this tune? I've really come to love these loosely put together tunes from the early days, like STU'S TUNE, and I think it's a great window into the wonderful improvization skills of Jay Kay. The laid back jazz here is a far cry from the days of TWENTY ZERO ONE and TITAN, and it's this chill feel that I really came to love about Jamiroquai.

So, what do you think???

Glad you liked it....
buffaloman_R Hello, :bm_r:

Thanks for the comment Freddie, I just knew my post about the Latest Jamiroquai downloads would help someone Wink! In regards to "Let Me Believe", yeah, that is also one of favorite early Jam songs. But probably my fav early Jam song is "The Kids Got A Funky Soul" from the "If I like it, I do it" bootleg, it was early version of "The Kids", a bit faster and more simplistic lyrics. I should transcribe the lyrics to "Let Me Believe", given both versions have different lyrics, just a future idea. I have often wondered, I have a copy of the Aussie version of ROTSC that has different lyrics printed in the booklet for various songs, one them happens to be "The Kids", maybe the lyrics for that song printed are for "Let Me Believe", I'll do a little investigating when I have the time. Thanks for listening and again, enjoy the downloads Freddie! Peace!

Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

Well...Like Freddie I also listened this track for the very first time and I like it very very much (better than Stu`s Tune, by the way) and yes, JamiroFan...jeje, it would be a great idea to put the lyrics good . And you know what? I will give it a try and see if I can figure them out.

Oh... I have the version of The Kids Got Funky Soul, but I have it live from the Too Young To Die 1993 album... is that the same track you`re talking about?

Bye.

I've got a recording of THE KIDS GOT FUNKY SOUL that I got from The Stuart Zender Fansite, I believe.... really great track. The recording I have stops cold for about half a second two-thirds of the way through the track, then picks up again. It really annoys me.

I'd love to get some lyrics to LET ME BELIEVE! I started trying to transcribe it myself, but I can't understand a lot of what he says, and since Jamirofan seems to be the master of deciphering unintelligible lyrics, I might just leave it up to him Wink I might try to perform it with my band in Richmond this summer, so lyrics would help a bit Laughing (remember my band?)

Take care!

I didn´t know you had a band, Freddie, well good for you. I would love to have my own band, the sad thing is that I don´t sing, I don´t play drums or any other instrument... I guess I should kill myself.
