Thank you. |
You can use a program to rip the audio from those YouTube videos. |

Alright boys and girls, I propose a new DVD from the video we have... I'm all over the video side of things, getting some 16:9 anamorphic widescreen happening rather than that 4:3 letterbox stuff... Might see if Main Event do an unedited broadcast on the 26th that I can record, otherwise there's what we've already got from dvtch's torrent which would be made from this original 768x432 resolution.
Because of the way DVD formatted video works, it's going to upscale the vertical resolution to 576 pixels while simultaneously downscaling the horizontal resolution to 720 before the anamorphic side of things kicks in and stretches the horizontal res to 1024 (that's what anamorphic is, max res you can do standard DVD video in is 720x576)... Sounds retarded I know, but I've dealt with DVD video just enough to know that's how it works. Unless anyone else has any better ideas? Always open to a better idea!
Anyone want to get on board and make a cover? I reckon a title like NYE JMQ SYD or something like that could open up the possibilities of some decent graphic stylings... _________________

I'm not sure I understood quite well, but if I did I my proposal is, make sure not to change the aspect ratio, if you have to stretch the image and downscale the width of the video, put some black bands on top and bottom of it to reach the right height. |

Yeah, but that's what a Letterboxed image is, which can lead to Windowboxing when viewed on a 16:9 widescreen TV (and then when viewed at the correct aspect ratio would be stretched by the TV anyway). I'll do some testing to see what works best, but I have a feeling the Anamorphic option may be the one...
I can't stand 4:3 video letterboxed into 16:9, it's such a waste of resolution. The problem with ours is that the original source video we have has a vertical resolution of 576 including the black bars, so any attempt at getting a full frame happening is going to involve some form of upscaling, which is not ideal, I know...
I'll see what results I get and post what I find. _________________

cool, I really prefer the waste of resolution instead the stretched image |

If anyone's still interested - ripped from the original PPV video, 320kbps mp3, split into tracks. 196Mb.
