Epiphone 'Jamiroquai' Les Paul Special II for sale
For any guitar lovers

A friend of mine attended me to this ad on Hollands biggest online sales network. It's an Epiphone Les Paul Special II with a mother of pearl buffaloman in the neck of the guitar.

Just wanted to bring it to the attention in case someone is interested to place a bid. The website is in Dutch but I'm sure Google translate will help.

'jamiroquai guitar' in marktplaats

Being mother of pearl I assume it's an inlay that's been cut into the neck.
Wrecked a perfectly good guitar if you ask me...

I don't see the point in it.
Rob Harris usually plays a Stratocaster and Simon Katz did the same, why customize a Les Paul then?

Ah well, it's ok then.
Mmm, in fact it's not ok! Epiphone is a Gibson budget brand, like Squier for Fender. As far as I know, Jamiroquai guitarists play on genuine brand guitars. (But I can be wrong there again, Gonza will enlighten me certainly in the near future! Wink )

Anyway, what was the price again for the Jamiroquai Les Paul or how much was it sold for? It's not possible anymore to view that.

Well, of course pro musicians rarely use budget instruments, and I've never seen any Jamiroquai guitarrist play a Les Paul, except for this performance of Half the Man Razz

But, I think Rob plays a few japanese made fenders from the 80's -one of them being the sunburst one-, that were kinda the budget/cheap instruments back in the day, some of them even have the "squier" label on the headstock. Of course, he has propably replaced the mics and electronics to make them sound better. I think they are called JV Squiers -JV standing for Japanese Vintage-. I read it in some interview.

but, again, about the jamiroquai les paul being sold, I have to admit my reaction was exactly the same ("why not doing it on a strat/tele!"), I agree with you on that Wink

I have the very same guitar, a Epiphone Special II, (w/ gold hardware and humbuckers)

but the only difference with this one, I believe is the "pearl buffaloman inlay", which I could have installed I guess if I wanted to.

there is a pic of me playing it on my revernation website:
