Grant Nelson - Anthology Series
Hi guys,
I've just posted up the first in a series of 4 mixes that i've done exclusively for myspace that cover bits & pieces of music that I have either written, produced, remixed or all of the previous over the past 17 years.
The first edition is the one that most of you visiting me here will be expecting to hear - House from the year 2000 to the present.
Following editions will cover my 2 Step, early house & garage, drum & bass and hardcore productions. You'll hear everything from Bump & Flex to early Nice 'n' Ripe & even some Wishdokta & Vibes stuff! |
And this is the tracklist of the first session (Runaway's mix included ):

Funky house stuff! The first three treacks and track 10 are available in some Hed Kandi Disco Heaven compilations and are some of my favourite house tracks of the last years...enjoy them, it's a big gift from this great Dj _________________ I once had a 10 years of Travelling Without Moving celebrations banner here... |

Yeah this mix is really good...
It's a better, but unfortunately shorter version of those DJ Flatcracker mixes. I really enjoy his stuff, and this sounds very similar to it. I just wish it were longer than a half hour. But then again maybe he does that one keep us wanting to hear more, and to buy his stuff. This 30 minute sampler is making me take out my credit card to buy more lol. _________________ Wouldn't 'ya like... To walk the sunny avenues of life? |

Yeah absolutely great. It's pretty hard to find great funky house tracks and in those 25 minutes there are some amazing! I'm looking forward to buy some Defected In the House compilations, the "Jay J and Miguel Migs" one and the Marin Solveig one, according to the samples on the official Defected site they sound fantastic! _________________ I once had a 10 years of Travelling Without Moving celebrations banner here... |

I was thinking about this as I was listening this morning...and I realized that I love it so much because it is short. I have a short span for house/dance/techno music that isn't soulful or more in that direction (ie. 4hero, MAW), and often don't want to hear a full song - so this mix is great. By the time I'm ready to hear something else - something else comes on. I also really dig the way he blended the tracks.
