As I hear music a bit different as most people I thought it was VERY easy...
I always like to seperate instruments in my head.
I wanted to do a little game on here for years now.
everyone adding a melody of a jamiroquai song, but not the main melody. maybe a bass. strings. or just a little harf in the back...
yes, it's a studio track!
the bass/kick is NOT the main attraction of the song.
but the rythm is quite unique. no other jami song has exactly this rythm. |

 ...another question... the tempo is still the same as on the original track? I find it strange that the "rhythm" sounds unsteady... as if it is played inexact... but maybe it's an illusion

the rythm is steady.
it sounds a bit unsteady, but that's how it was played.
one tip:
at sec 42 something happens to the song. but only in the lower parts...
so every bassist who played this should recognize it  |

i thought that first too..but i think it does only sound so but in fact is not..
it´s a complicated rhythm maybe we are not used to if we hear it seperated..
omg i am so bad at this seperating instruments in my mind..

 What the f... this is WEIRD! And a bit creepy as well (adding to the mystery...). To me, this sounds like a... a... a baby hitting a plastic cup against the wooden bars of the cage! Ok too much Foley-ism there
