its really incredible,i know that he said in one interview that he is more like a mover and that his moves come from skating..
forgive me but i dont trust him. he must have trained those moves you cant just know to move like he does..

No, I think he is telling the truth. I dance a lot like Jay (and of course, I stole my moves from him) but you don't need any dance training to dance like him. You just need to practice, and feel the music. |

Well Jay as i know, moves since the begin of band well since 1993.
Maybe before the begin of band , he already knows how to dance.
It's wonder to see in the movies of concert , watch Jay doing and improvising is owne style to dance.
The sound of the first concerts is like he dance...bit jazzy way...improvise.
In Canned Heat [Video-Clip] we can see all the dancing potencial of JK! _________________ hooked up |

Hello Jamirotalkers,
While I am listening Shoot The Moon very loud with my headphones, I found an article where Jay talks about his dacing skills:
'I love being in movement. If you called that dancing, then I dance. Movement has always been an important part in my videos and in my shows. As my music has a lot of live funk, I always tried to do what the music was telling me. If I did it when I was a kid? Well, just a little.'
(There's no link to it because it is from an article from 2001 I have in my JMQ folder).
But I have to agree with Freddie HG. When theres nobody at home, I put the music that loud and I start to move, not dancing, just move. What Jay does. It is not so difficult. Like he said, you have to feel the music, the rhythm in it.
He actually is the king of dancing, thats because he found his own style!
PS: Seriously thinking when he is 40, touring the 8th album, if he could move like he does now.

i can understand what he means by getting his moves from skating. I've watched alot of skateboarding and can see how he's get moves from that. Thinking about it, seeing how they do moves kinda looks like dance steps in a way if you weren't on a board and moving. i don't know if that makes any sence, but watch alot of skateboarding movies and you'll see what i'm talking about. i think jay is an amazing dancer, well i don't think, HE IS _________________ That's all she wrote

I *love* his moves. I need to get my hands on more of the video clips to see more of them. It's such cool dancing, kind of like the crazy spaz dancing I'd do in my room if I knew no one could see, but he makes it look good. ;D |
