- Musical style/s through the album?
"Jazz/Funk"
- What should the album cover feature?
"Jay","Buffalo Man","The band"
Why not all of them?
- What would you prefer for the tracklisting?
"Songs: -lenght and +quantity"
I would like them to do it like the new Maroon 5 album with 15 songs, i know its not going to be that, i know they are going to do long tracks cause Jay said so, but why not do an extended track cd too?
- From these selection, for the promo video for the first single, which style would you pick?
"When You Gonna Learn"
Absolutley, a message with the video
- Should we expect another song that starts with "Black..."?
Haha, what?
- Should we expect another mediocre song in track 6 like in the last couple of albums? Laughing
Yeah thats must have!, haha no i dont think so
- Should the backing singers have a major role through the album?
No i dont think so, going back with only one backing singers in a couple of songs is better i think.
- Should the album be more brass-orientated? (I can feel the answer already)
Yeah and i would like some solos by them too...
- Should the album include at least one instrumental track like the good old days?
Not necesary, if they have a good idea though...why not realese that as a b-side?
- If you had to choose one song that represents the over-all musical feel of the album, which one of these would you pick?
"Travelling Without Moving", love the feeling of that song.
- Which hat-style you think should Jay use as a logical step from the previous ones?
A big one with flashing neon, of course im not in charge of that...maybee good....
- Pick one of this songs to be completely erased from the forthcoming tour tracklist:
"Deeper Underground"
- Pick one of this songs to be included on the forthcoming tour tracklisting:
One of these two:
"Funktion"
"Music Of The Mind"
- Should the album include 'special guests'? (example: "Black Capricorn Devil Crow (featuring Will.I.Am)")
Absolutley a Duel would be something, but not any popstar like beyonce or so. Maybee Timbaland?
- Would you like another didgeridoo song stuck at the end of the album as a way to say "here's Wallis back"?
Though question, maybee
- And finally, use your imagination and propose a realistic title for the album you feel would appeal to the fans, but also to the common buyer who walks into a CD store (with realistic I mean, nothing like "The Space Cowboy's New Odyssey", a re-use of previous titles)
Dont have an idea, im not funky at all!

'Freedom' or something to do with playing uninhibited without any ties or tight restraints enforced upon them. Free to make the music they like to play and we like to hear. Although George Michael used that for one of his singles and i wouldn't want to clash with him.

"The band"
- What would you prefer for the tracklisting?
"Songs: -lenght and +quantity"

"High Times"
laid back, relaxed, type documentary video...
- Should we expect another song that starts with "Black..."?
No
- Should we expect another mediocre song in track 6 like in the last couple of albums?
Up to interpretation
- Should the backing singers have a major role through the album?
Not major, but a role
- Should the album be more brass-orientated? (I can feel the answer already)
Yep
- Should the album include at least one instrumental track like the good old days?
Sure
- If you had to choose one song that represents the over-all musical feel of the album, which one of these would you pick?
"Mr. Moon"
- Which hat-style you think should Jay use as a logical step from the previous ones?
Dunno...let's all move on
- Pick one of this songs to be completely erased from the forthcoming tour tracklist:
"Deeper Underground"
- Pick one of this songs to be included on the forthcoming tour tracklisting:
"Stillness In Time"
- Should the album include 'special guests'? (example: "Black Capricorn Devil Crow (featuring Will.I.Am)")
Sure, why not? Not sure which ones though. Would love to see him pinned against a female on a track actually. Or even have a guest DJ to scratch and cut a track or two.
- Would you like another didgeridoo song stuck at the end of the album as a way to say "here's Wallis back"?
Doesn't matter, but I don't think it should be a way to say 'Wallis back'...we miss him, but let's all move on
- And finally, use your imagination and propose a realistic title for the album you feel would appeal to the fans, but also to the common buyer who walks into a CD store (with realistic I mean, nothing like "The Space Cowboy's New Odyssey", a re-use of previous titles)
I don't know...nothing that has to do with the past or intepretation of the other albums..no space themes or nothing like that. Nothing with a genre in a title (funk, jazz, etc...) - that puts a limit on how the album is heard and expectation, nothing that has to do with breaking sony chains (can't we all move on)...I don't know suggestions though... _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

I just had a flash reading at Deesh's post and a part from joking ( the one I've choosed was CONDOMIZE IT :lol) the name I would love them to use is ( I still remeber jay saying that but dunno if was @ Scala or Jazz Cafè) well here it goes: BACK TO THE OLD SCHOOL
normal buyer may not understand the meaning but it's a nice name...and we would start to jump around like crazy.

I think that kind of titles are TOO literal. I agree with deesh, nothing with a music style on the title.

It would actually be adorable if the music IS old school, not just the title
OK, I haven't answered yet, so here I go:
- Musical style/s through the album? (Choose one)
"Jazz/Funk"
- What should the album cover feature? (Choose one)
"The band" +buffalo
- What would you prefer for the tracklisting?
"Songs: +lenght and -quantity"
- From these selection, for the promo video for the first single, which style would you pick?
"Supersonic"
- Should we expect another song that starts with "Black..."?
Not this time
- Should we expect another mediocre song in track 6 like in the last couple of albums?
Depends on who thinks Stop Don't Panic or Love Blind are mediocre songs.
- Should the backing singers have a major role through the album?
They could have, but only on small dosis
- Should the album be more brass-orientated? (I can feel the answer already)
Yes
- Should the album include at least one instrumental track like the good old days?
Yes
- If you had to choose one song that represents the over-all musical feel of the album, which one of these would you pick?
"Mr. Moon"
- Which hat-style you think should Jay use as a logical step from the previous ones?
After the Dynamite "metal sunrise" hat, I can't think of anything else
- Pick one of this songs to be completely erased from the forthcoming tour tracklist:
"Cosmic Girl" with "Deeper Underground" behind
- Pick one of this songs to be included on the forthcoming tour tracklisting:
"Stillness In Time"
- Should the album include 'special guests'? (example: "Black Capricorn Devil Crow (featuring Will.I.Am)")
It would be nice to hear our band featuring with other (also) favorite artists. I'm not sure about this album. Maybe the next one, I don't know. I'd like to see and hear what the guys can do by themselves without pressure.
- Would you like another didgeridoo song stuck at the end of the album as a way to say "here's Wallis back"?
Nope, sorry. If Wallis gets back, let's give him a full track.
- And finally, use your imagination and propose a realistic title for the album you feel would appeal to the fans, but also to the common buyer who walks into a CD store (with realistic I mean, nothing like "The Space Cowboy's New Odyssey", a re-use of previous titles)
"Jamiroquai" or the name of a key song in the album.

Inside photos: the band
Band: Jay, Stu, Toby, Wallis, Derrick, Sola

Re: Untitled 7th Jamiroquai studio album Quiz
- Musical style/s through the album? (Choose one)
"Jazz/Funk"
"Funk/Rock"
"Disco/Electronic/Funk"
- What should the album cover feature? (Choose one)
"Jay"
"Buffalo Man"
"The band"
- What would you prefer for the tracklisting?
"Songs: +lenght and -quantity"
"Songs: -lenght and +quantity"
- From these selection, for the promo video for the first single, which style would you pick?
"Supersonic"
"When You Gonna Learn"
"High Times" <- second choice
"Love Foolosophy"
- Should we expect another song that starts with "Black..."?
I hope not...
- Should we expect another mediocre song in track 6 like in the last couple of albums?
It's inevitable that someone will consider at least one song to be mediocre... whether it will be track 6 or not is written in the stars.
- Should the backing singers have a major role through the album?
Not major, but significant.
- Should the album be more brass-orientated? (I can feel the answer already)
Hell yeah!
- Should the album include at least one instrumental track like the good old days?
Hell yeah!
- If you had to choose one song that represents the over-all musical feel of the album, which one of these would you pick?
"If I Like It I Do It"
"Radio"
"Little L"
"Mr. Moon"
"Travelling Without Moving" <- second choice
"Feel So Good"
"Runaway"
- Which hat-style you think should Jay use as a logical step from the previous ones?
No hat at all! But... if he really wants to wear one I'd prefer something old-school rather than the more recent fantasy creations.
- Pick one of this songs to be completely erased from the forthcoming tour tracklist:
"Cosmic Girl"
"Deeper Underground"
"Alright"
"High Times"
"Black Capricorn Day"
- Pick one of this songs to be included on the forthcoming tour tracklisting:
"Where Do We Go From Here"
"Funktion"
"Music Of The Mind"
"Stop Don't Panic"
"Stillness In Time" <-second choice
- Should the album include 'special guests'? (example: "Black Capricorn Devil Crow (featuring Will.I.Am)")
Bad example. But I must admit that the thought of a special guest is interesting. I wouldn't mind a duet with a wicked female vocalist such as Jocelyn Brown. It would also be cool having a duet with Stevie Wonder... most of all to once and for all show that Jay sounds nothing like Stevie.
- Would you like another didgeridoo song stuck at the end of the album as a way to say "here's Wallis back"?
Not necessarily at the end of the album. But yes, I would like the digeridoo to come back for a song or two.
- And finally, use your imagination and propose a realistic title for the album you feel would appeal to the fans, but also to the common buyer who walks into a CD store (with realistic I mean, nothing like "The Space Cowboy's New Odyssey", a re-use of previous titles)
