Calvin Harris covering SIT for RadioOne Anniversary?
Rumor? Truth?

About Calvin Harris:
http://www.myspace.com/calvinharristv (atleast I think this is the same one....)
RADIO 1 is preparing to celebrate 40 years at the top with an amazing anniversary treat.
I can exclusively reveal the cream of UK talent, plus a couple of adopted Brits, have been rounded up to record a hit from each year the music station has been going.
Radio 1 has been a pioneer for pop music since it launched in 1967. Way back in the day, before CHRIS MOYLES, ZANE LOWE or in fact any of the artists were born, the station was pushing back the boundaries of popular music.
And now artists from the top of the charts have been invited to pick a song they would like to perform.
Here’s a list of the 40 tracks in full (See 1995 for Jamiroquai)
1967 – Flowers In The Rain (The Move) by Kaiser Chiefs
1968 – All Along The Watchtower (Jimi Hendrix Experience) by The Fratellis
1969 – Cupid (Johnny Nash) by Amy Winehouse
1970 – Lola (The Kinks) by Robbie Williams
1971 – Your Song (Elton John) by The Streets
1972 – Betcha By Golly Wow (The Stylistics) by Sugababes
1973 – You’re So Vain (Carly Simon) by The Feeling
1974 – Band On The Run (Wings) by Foo Fighters
1975 – Love Is The Drug (Roxy Music) by Kylie
1976 – Let’s Stick Together (Bryan Ferry) by KT Tunstall
1977 – Sound & Vision (David Bowie) by Franz Ferdinand
1978 – Teenage Kicks (The Undertones) by The Raconteurs
1979 – Can’t Stand Losing You (The Police) by Mika
1980 – Too Much Too Young (The Specials) by Kasabian
1981 – Under Pressure (Queen & David Bowie) by Keane
1982 – Town Called Malice (The Jam) by McFly
1983 – Come Back And Stay (Paul Young) by James Morrison
1984 – Careless Whisper (George Michael) by The Gossip
1985 – The Power Of Love (Huey Lewis & The News) by Pigeon Detectives
1986 – Don’t Get Me Wrong (The Pretenders) by Lily Allen
1987 – You Sexy Thing (Hot Chocolate) by Stereophonics
1988 – Fast Car (Tracy Chapman) by Mutya Buena
1989 – Lullaby (The Cure) by Editors
1990 – Englishman In New York (Sting) by Razorlight
1991 – Crazy For You (Madonna) by Groove Armada
1992 – It Must Be Love (Madness) by Paolo Nutini
1993 – All That She Wants (Ace Of Base) by The Kooks
1994 – You’re All I Need To Get By (Mary J Blige) by Mark Ronson
(ummm..this song is by Method Man and Mary only sings the hook...Sun needs to check it) AND this no cover can sound better the orginal. That song is classic. If this is true, I wonder if Stu will play on it?
1995 – Stillness In Time (Jamiroquai) by Calvin Harris
1996 – No Diggity (Blackstreet) by Klaxons
1997 – Love Fool (The Cardigans) by Just Jack
1998 – Ray Of Light (Madonna) by Natasha Bedingfield
1999 – Drinking in LA (Bran Van 3000) by The Twang
2000 – The Great Beyond (REM) by The Fray
2001 – Teenage Dirtbag (Wheatus) by Girls Aloud
2002 – Like I Love You (Justin Timberlake) by Maximo Park
2003 – Don’t Look Back Into The Sun (The Libertines) by The View
2004 – Toxic (Britney Spears) by Hard-Fi
2005 – Father & Son (Yusuf & Ronan Keating) by The Enemy
2006 – Steady As She Goes (The Raconteurs) by Corinne Bailey Rae _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

I saw this too, in the newspaper and on the Radio 1 website. I should imagine it's true. Calvin Harris has previously done a (not bad) remix of 'Canned Heat' which was posted on another of his MySpace sites http://www.myspace.com/calvinharrisminimix _________________ May the wind always be at your back, and the sun upon your face...

I really liked the Calvin Harris Remix of Canned Heat
It will be interesting to see what he does with SIT if this is indeed true. _________________ 'This is the world he wants, pray for the brave and the young...' |

Okay, just heard it and I think because I'm so used to hearing it another way, I couldn't get into this at all. I respect his effort and happy he picked a Jamiroquai song - my favorite one too! _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

I like it, sounds a bit like Metal Mickey! (Robot thing from the 80s!).
I'm so pleased just to see Jamiroquai included in this, and one of less commercial tunes, Keeping the funk alive!! |

I like the backing track and like already said, respect for doing a JMQ track but I can't take to the vocal aspect of it!! _________________ 'This is the world he wants, pray for the brave and the young...' |

Yeah I've got it - some of the tracks are very good and then some of them aren't!
To be expected really I guess!! _________________ 'This is the world he wants, pray for the brave and the young...' |

i think it's pretty good for a various artists cd.
maybe Jamiroquai should have been the ones to do there version of 'Love is the drug' which i thought was excellent. But it's Kylie instead
Just Jack also do 'Lovefool' originally by the Cardigans but in there unique style.
good idea i think _________________
