heyhey, seems that this 'best of this year' task is kinda on my shoulders, so i'll try to get this year's topic going...

so... post your top 5's everyone (or top 10).

my own preference for 2007 (generating this list as we speak):

1: 4hero - play with the changes
2: daft punk - alive 2007
3: build an ark - dawn
4: nomumbah - love moves
5: common - finding forever

some more will probably pop into my head soon, big chance i'm gonna edit this list to top 10...

cheerios,
-m-

I like this topic every year. Thanks moro for posting it up.
I think I said this before, but you are definitely like my Jamirotalk musical twin...Your number 1 and 5 are in my top 5 too. Common is battling it out with Winehouse's FRANK for me. Although FRANK came out internationally a few years back, it was release here on November 20th, so I can include it. That just might knock Common to 2. Smile I'll post mine later today.

Good to see you around, Deesha

I think it's pretty hard for me personally this year as I've got quite a few albums that I really like so in no particular order here are some of my favourites from this year:

Maximo Park - Our Earthly Pleasures
Klaxons - Myths of the Near Future
Mr Hudson and the Library - A Tale of Two Cities
4Hero - Play With the Changes
Just Jack - Overtones
Hoosiers - The Trick to Life
Kelly Jones - Only the Names Have Changed
Reverend and the Makers - The State of Things
Arctic Monkeys - Favourite Worst Nightmare
Stereophonics - Pull the Pin
Craig David - Trust Me
The Cribs - Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever
Little Man Tate - About What You Know

They're all of the top of my head! There's some more as well and I couldn't possibly rank them in order apart from maybe the top 2 or 3 Very Happy

4 HERO's album was the truth...fantastic and great to see it in your list too dannyev!

I started this list for work about 2 months ago to try and make it easier and yesterday my editor asked for our lists by Monday, so it's all good timing.

I also like this topic because it gives me things to check out like Craig David's release you put dannyev.

Yeah I agree, 4Hero's album is fabulous! I would check out Craig David's new album if you can deesh as it's a great blend of upbeat funky tunes and the slower more soulful ones which really show off the great voice that Craig has.

Another album I forgot to put on my list was Seal's new album 'System' which is really good!

^my other musical jamiroquai twin! Smile

i had to cut ben westbeech out! it was hard to narrow to 10 because he would have been 11 or 12 (fighting it out with ernesto - find the form)

great list!

Ehe, i must say... It was LOVE when I heard Ben Westbeech's work in full lenght for the first time. Maybe it's not an excellent album as 4Hero's one may be, but... Have you ever felt that "this is how i would make music if i was a musician" feeling? And he easily found place in the top5 chart because I bought Frank two years ago and I haven't had the chance to listen to Common's work yet...
There are 3-4 titles in your list I've never heard... I guess they are must-buys, eh? Wink

And apparently 4Hero's "Play with the changes" is the album of the year for us, jamirotalkers! Very Happy
