Mmmm, well I have to agree with those not-online people, although it is true it can be great fun to have online friends aswell. I've been at Nicki's Jamiliy meeting, I've been several times at meetings from my online game guild and I enjoyed them all.
But one shouldn't have only online friends! _________________

I had chats with a girl for almost 2 years, I met her and she was my girlfriend for almost 4 months. She left me, but (quoting J) that's just another story.

I am just coming in here to express my anxiety and nervousness.
I've been at the paper for 4 years, and tomorrow my first cover story at that paper comes out! It is on DJ Lady B, who was the first radio DJ to ever play Public Enemy on the radio, also the first woman on the East Coast to play hip-hop on the air in 1979.
So, it is an awesome honor!
It is my second cover story in my writing career..I covered a female hip-hop dance troupe in 2003 (http://www.audiogliphix.freeservers.com/). Weird how both stories are about females in hip-hop...anyway, I'll post up the link and artwork when they are available.
I'm nervous, but excited. I worked sooooooo hard on this piece. Stayed up so many nights....this is HUGE for my writing career (if you want to call it that..haha )
...and tonight is Clayton's birthday surprise party. I'm setting up, cooking, cleaning and everything..ugh! Thank God it is only for like 6 or so people!!!! This is his 4th celebration in like 6 days....and the final one...THANK GOD, I'm tired.... _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

Thanks Ladies
FYI - The party went well, besides a small oven fire! Everyone is okay and the place is okay, but it was scary for a moment there.
Clayton was surprised and had a great time.
I'm off to a CARE conference for the next few days, so everyone have a good weekend.

Like always, when I say I'll do something, something ridiculously out of common happens to stop me from doing it.
I came back here after a long time on my last bday, 2 weeks ago, and I said I was back and I'd be here more often. What could have happened? Don't try to guess - my main hard disk crashed that Wednesday, and with it craploads of work were gone with the wind! I was about to cry, so many things I worked so hard on were just gone... just when I was considering doing a backup! GB's of work just down the toilet!
On a different rant, after I got everything back working on another hard disk, I found out I couldn't log in to MSN anymore! Micro$oft has put up a mandatory update, that won't let me log in until I update to the newest version of MSN Messenger (8.5?). That's not that much of a problem, except that the newest version won't let you install it until you do the Windows Update. And we all know that's a very very very bad idea (even if you have a legal, registered copy of Windows ) don't make me rant on Windows Update and DRM, It'd be an endless post!
Therefore, since I can't do Windows Update, I can't install the latest version of MSN Messenger, and I can't log in to chat with my friends anymore
I have switched over to Yahoo Messenger now, and I'm seriously considering programming my own IM client. Without Windows Update. Or DRM.
So there, you see Micro$oft and Western Digital have f'd up my birthday week! _________________

Happy Birthday Stu! Maybe all the bad juju is working itself out now and that means for the rest of the year only good things can happen.
I had ridiculously out of common things happen when trying to drive to my old job. One day I was stuck at a light for three signals because an ambulance, a firetruck, and a (separate) funeral procession came through. Then I was stuck on the same road further down because of people leaving religious services and road construction. Is that a sign to quit or what? So now I am interviewing to be a elementary school teacher . (Hey Sandriche aren't you a teacher?) More than likely I will be relocating to another state- not sure where yet that will be.
Congrats Deesha on your career moves too.
thanks for the positive feedback on meeting people online. maybe it is not all that bad, it was after all just one person and there are many more |
