Jamiroquai: Essential Bass Transcriptions
Hi Everyone,
For those who haven't already heard - I just released my Jamiroquai: Essential Bass Transcriptions book
The book contains 15 transcriptions of Jamiroquai bass lines transcribed in full, note-for-note, with chord symbols! You can check out more about me and the book at my website www.simonmerrick.co.uk
If you have any questions regarding purchasing a copy or anything else for that matter, please feel free to post here or email me.

Hello Simon
Good job with that book.
We had this conversation here, but since you posted, I'd like to ask you by whom was it approved?
You know, just out of curiosity. It was probably by Jamiroquai limited since they have all rights right?
If I would play bass, I would definitely buy your book
Well, maybe I'll buy it otherwise, some of my friends play bass |

ahh, ok guys - sorry i missed that post!
Just to clear a few things up then... I have spent over 2 years, not only transcribing the work, but trying to get permission to publish the book myself!
After much hard work (and nagging ) i got EMI to get the book approved by Jamiroquai managment! This was no walk in the park...it took about a year, and in the end a lot of copyright fees to pay for this project. Please, if any of you have any doubts about the legality of this book, please contact EMI and Music Sales (for their 25% ownership of 2 tracks) to ease your minds
thanks guys,
Peace.Simon |

No no, I didn't by any chance meant to doubt about that.
We were just wondering how did you do that, and if you had any contact with Jamiroquai.
You really put lot of work into it so this really must be accurate.

Ok. Sorry guys! I wasn't accusing anybody - i just wanted to reassure you all!
I didnt have any personal contact with Jamiroquai - It was all done through EMI (their publishing company).
Although, Mr.Zender thought the book was a really 'cool' idea when I told him about it

hahaha, great! So you should add sign: approved by Stuart Zender.
And of course, nothing else would fit better on front cover than Stu himself |

Yep Yep busy bees!!!
Hello,
Hehe, yeah, your right there Simon, Stu doing that "Leroy" thing ! Still don't know how he is going to branch a new sound that mirrors both "The Beatles" & "Earth, Wind & Fire"...it will be interesting! Anyhoo, thanks for the all the "book tidbits" Simon, of course, we know your not blaming anybody, just making a point ! Thanks again for all your hard work Simon and keep it up, you make us all proud ! Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 _________________

Thanks for your kind comments JamiroFan200, and the rest of you for that matter!
As for the Leroy thing - the latest I heard was that the Leonardo DiCaprio thing was a hoax, setup by some PR person. Apparentley the members of Leroy were not to happy!
Mind you, this news is from a really 'reliable' source - but then we haven't heard anything about it since
