Something happened today that only one other person will find as funny as me
I was in the city centre on my way to go to the supermarket. There's a big bus stop right in front of the supermarket. While I was standing there, two women walk past me, deep in conversation:
Woman Nr 1:
"Oh, I need to go to the hair dresser tomorrow!"
Woman Nr 2:
"Why? Are you getting a new hair cut? Your hair looks great!"
Woman Nr 1:
"I'm getting a new wig!"
Bear bites on his lips and makes sure to go into the supermarket as quickly as possible

Hey there everyone, dont know if I have the right section, but it seemed to fit best. Hope this is not too long winded for everyone.
Have been a recent convert to the ways of Jamiroquai(late 06). looked at doing a version of canned heat for my class at school(they were in to napoleon)Started listening to some other Jam stuff and liked it.
At this time my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer, went through surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy. The whole family during this time went through learning curves and my children and I really got into the music of this band. This was especially true as we travelled the seven hours on a weekly basis to where my wife received the radio. Over this 7 month period, with a lot of thanks to simon at the SZC and ririka, we listened and learned all about Jamiroquai.
Maybe it was the state of mind we were in, but I really identified with what i was listening too, and just got a lift a lot of the time when It was needed.
Indeed, today when I hear certain tracks i can relate to where I was the first time I heard it, and my frame of mind at the time. I still tear up when I hear certain versions and think of what It meant.
Anyway, we had been cancer free for the best part of 14 months, but we will start the process all over again tomorrow. She has been diagnosed with a melanoma in her eye. We drive 8 hours to our state capital where it looks like she will have her eye removed on Monday.
I have already chosen the gigs and albums to take and listen to on the trip.
Living in a regional town in Australia exposure to jamiroquai is limited, and when I try to explain to friends, colleagues about the music and the impact It has had on me, I seem to miss the mark. i know I am amongst those who probably understand my feelings here.
Anyway we will continue the fight against this horrible disease, and I realize that many of you have probably been touched in some way by it also. My little post here is probably just for therapy at this point in time, but hopefully the music of this band will again help us in some small way to get through this again. cheers, grungle |

grungle,
I am sorry to hear about what your family has gone through and is still going through. However, I am happy to hear that your wife has beat the breast cancer, that shows that she is tough enough to go through whatever comes her way, including the latest with the eye removal.
I don't want to say too much, but stay strong. All of us hear are sending so much love and positive vibes to you from all our corners of the Earth, and know that if you need anything, even a spot to write down how you feel or anything else - we are here.
Hugs to you, your awesome and strong wife, and your entire family.

Today I was about to kick a collegue of mine because he was calling bad names to my father which I don't admit!! So (and since I'm very impulsive) he was about to turn dead.. _________________ GIGGLES! |
