So Far...Obama been very "Bushy"
Hello,
Already touting a 2/3 total public American approval rating, higher than JFK's first early days as president, Barack is off to a good pace in his first 100 days . But from what I have seen, his first few actions have been more "bushy" than "baracky" . From ordering military missle strikes in Pakistan, killing 18 civilians, to the monolithic 850 billion dollar economic stimulus plan....which I have a bad feeling will be lined with more billion dollar pork plans nicely coded into the plan by greedy senators of both parties (One of the reasoning that still made the buyout plan as ridiculously unviable as the Patriot Act did for American civil rights). But Obama did 2 good things so far:
- Cleared the way to allow state governments to set their own standards for greenhouse gas emissions and car gas efficency standards.
- Close Gitmo/ (Within 1 year after all pending terror suspect cases after inspection by the Obama Administration)
I know, saying Obama has gone Bushy so early into his first term is unfair, but still, in these trying times, we must continue to "question everything" when it comes to our elected leaders.....something us Americans DIDN'T do during 8 years of Republican administration...hard to question anything when the Right owned our journalism. Just my thoughts, if anyone takes offense, I apologize...plain and true...just my thoughts. Cheers!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000
P.S. Yes, the plus side on the 850 billion dollar economic stimulus plan is for most of middle class America, but still, we will all down the road will be paying some HEAVYWEIGHT taxes....Bush HAD tax revenue for his plan, Obama doesn't...... _________________

This is the wrong place for me to discuss Barack or USA politics. Learned that a little bit ago, but one wonderful thing I want to add that he did and that is lift the Mexico City gag rule. I fought for that to be lifted for years, therefore letting more women, children and men in impoverished areas around the world have healthcare. If you don't understand the gag rule, then I'll explain it to you via PM. _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

I think Barack is gonna be very "Barack-y" very soon. Between 2 years in a row of stimulus plans, and expensive bailouts of banks and the auto industry... We're gonna start paying that back via higher taxes more sooner than later me thinks. I don't have a problem with that as long as the money is spent right.
My whole issue and argument for anyone that wants tax cuts, lower taxes, etc. is don't bitch and complain when your roads are getting plowed and your schools need more funding. The funding for that stuff comes from taxes. It sucks how much we pay already, but at the same time public services get neglected if we don't pay them. _________________ Wouldn't 'ya like...
