Gabriella Cilmi - Lessons To Be Learned ? I was going to mention her months ago when she first appeared on jools with 'Sweet About Me' but I feared some people on here would put her in the same category as Winehouse again. Anyway that performance on jools was quite cocky or maybe more confident as she is only '16!' Her music is bluesy & maybe poppy and is supported by some talented musicians including a lively bass player(Kali) who in my opinion looks like Stephen Gerrard with Ginger dreads?? She is now Number 1 in her native Aus, is Italian but lives in London (of course ) 'Sweet About Me' has had plenty of airplay recently and her debut album 'Lessons To Be Learned' is out now but im not sure in how many countries. It is well worth a listen and some tracks can be found on - http://www.myspace.com/gabriellacilmi including a cover of Martha Reeves & The Vandellas - Echo Beach. (featured on the UK Album). I also went to see her about a month ago in Liverpool as she supported the french band Nouvelle Vague. I thought it would be better to post these pics when she became more established as maybe no one would take an interest as i mentioned before. In addition to this info Gabriella can also be found on youtube & if you buy the album it features 5 videos from her performance at the legendary Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club.
