Epic Jamiroquai broadcast this Saturday!
Hi everyone, from Katy at Fuse FM!
I hope you all wont mind me posting to let you know about an epic 6 hour radio show that I am presenting called that is called 'The Chill Room: Up All Night, featuring Jamiroquai on SATURDAY MARCH 7th at 2am - 8am.
The plan for the show is that each of Jamiroquai’s albums will be played back to back, with track analysis and an in-depth history of the band, including some hidden gems and remixes along the way!
This is all happening on Manchester based radio station Fuse FM 106.6 - but if you're not local you can still listen on www.fusefm.co.uk
If anyone could let me know if anything like this has ever been done before, because I'd love it if this could be a history-making show! For more information join our Facebook group called 'The Chill Room on Fuse FM 106.6'
So I hope you'll be able to join me for at least some of the broadcast because I'm sure it's going to be a great night!
Thanks,
Katy |

how upto-date is the analysis

Yes we broadcast from the basement of the Students' Union; the same venue where Academy 2 and 3 are (Academy 1 is next door to it)
I'm trying to get the analysis as up-to-date as possible, if I do make any mistakes then feel free to correct me on studio@fusefm.co.uk Obviously, as we start of at 2am EOPM will be playing so there will be older stuff there. But from about 6am onwards there will be the newer stuff and I hope to end with Runaway and Radio.
I was at the Sia gig at the Academ too actually, we got there nice and early so were right at the front. She really is a bundle of energy and I thought the glow stick performance of Buttons at the start was great! I'd love to see Zero 7 live one day.
Unfortunately I don't think Jamiroquai will be playing there again but I am hopeful for a gig at the MEN Arena sometime soon!
If anyone's interested the Facebook link to the show is: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/event.php?eid=54425539153 |

ok - thanks for replying and i will try to listen to it although i have work starting at 7am in the morning
is it possible it will be available to listen again at a more convenient time or maybe you can send me a recording?
i have watched 'Sia' a fair amount of times over the past 2 years and did see Zero 7 when they toured with 'The Garden' a while back. Im sure they will be back with some material this year but i also enjoy Tina Dico who was at the Lowry not so long ago.
yes - i dont think Jamiroquai will be at The Academy in the future, unfortunately those days are long gone but you can catch members of the band playing at Ronnie Scotts in London. This is called Funk-Affair and is an intimate experience where they play funky classics and mix it up.
We are hoping for an album in late summer so i would expect Nov/Dec at the M.E.N hopefully - not that im a fan of the place i hope this time round they will play the Liverpool Echo Arena.
I do remember watching them in 94 at the Liverpool Royal Court though _________________

Unfortunately we are not allowed to distribute broadcasts after their transmission for copyright reasons. But for anyone who does miss the show I will be making a podcast that will have all the info, just without any music.
I do hope there is a new album this year then hopefully I can finally see them live! I'm glad that my show is happening now though because I probably wouldn't have been able to have fit 7 albums all in!
What part of the UK do you live in, Jamiroca? The Fuse FM website can stream to anywhere in the world: www.fusefm.co.uk.
I'm very excited about the show tonight I hope you will all enjoy it! |
