Here is some photos and words from the press conference with the band members and Jay last night. Doesn't say too much. Does say this however:

http://jazzuality.com/jazz-events/jamiroquai-press-conference-with-jay-kay/

Jay Kay promised to deliver a high energy performance. “It’s going to be great, we haven’t done it for quite some times..” Jay Kay said. “There will be many instruments at the concert..” he added.

Also a photo of Jay with the promoter here:

Indonesia was super-excited and created their own 'Jamiroquai in Indonesia' tshirts that were available at the venue:

What a pity that its not avilable in a webshop or something like that....
Damn, these shirts are great, and I bet these are available in XXL (Unfortunately from the official shirt on jamiroquai.com, the biggest is only XL, and the length and the width of the shirts are secrets)

Here's a rather long review with lots of pictures...

http://jazzuality.com/jazz-events/la-light-concert-presents-jamiroquai-the-report/

YES IT’S TRUE! IT’S FINALLY HAPPENED! Despite what people said about the impossibility to held a concert close to the election day,Java Festival Production has overcome the odds. And tonight all the audience witnessed one of the greatest concert ever, on planet earth. YES IT’S TRUE, JAMIROQUAI’s performance went very successful, way higher than what we could ever predicted. It was an absolute blasting party!

What an unbelievable building it was. Sentul City Convention Center is designed to fulfill everything we ever dreamed for enjoying a concert. Just from the entrance you could clearly noticed that this convention center is made very professionally. Comfortable surroundings, comfy seats, easy viewing access to the stage and of course, the perfect sound system, all showed how amazing this building really is. Indonesia can be proud now, to have such a first class concert hall with international standard.

Now let’s talk about JAMIROQUAI. Since 1997, many promotors had tried to bring them here, but all failed. It took really big amount of effort, We’d say it was quite impossible to think about it at first, but finally, only Peter Gontha and his Java Festival Production could make it come into reality. It feels special with the fact that through 2009 JAMIROQUAI has only performed in Malaysia and Indonesia. While their performance in Malaysia was a part of F1 deal, the concert in Indonesia was a full concert. Indonesia should be proud of the fact.

The concert was opened by the performance of Dimi and her band. It was a nice opening to set the mood of everyone to face JAMIROQUAI concert. Dimi went on with series of cool acid songs mostly taken from her album. Some were upbeat, and some were sweet mellow acid She brought her hits such as “Musim Cinta” and “Setiap Detik“. Then a surprise came in the song called “Together“. Originally it was a duet with Eric Benet, but tonight she brought Afgan on stage. Then a Chaka Khan’s medley was delivered. It was nice to have Chaka Khan’s hits like “Through The Fire” and “Ain’t Nobody” pinned into Incognito’s style of music. Dimi then closed her performance with “Absence”

After waiting for sound check and stage preparation, JAMIROQUAI came on stage! The crowds popped, especially when Jay Kay arrived the stage. Besides Jay Kay, the personnels on stage were: Derrick McKenzie (drums), Matthew Richard Johnson (keyboard), Paul Stephen Turner (bass), Robert Kenneth Harris (guitar), William Kenneth Fry (percussion), with two back vocalists, Valerie Etienne and Hazel Fernandes. No more waiting, Jay Kay and friends opened up their concert with “The Kids“, taken from their album “Return Of The Space Cowboy” straight away. With a high energy opening like that, We were going to have an incredible concert. Jay Kay and friends continued with their hits with rock texture, “High Times“. Then followed by a medley,”Seven Days in Sunny June” and “Alright“. Jay Kay rocked the stage energically. He continuously jumped from one side to the other. What a very energic and attractive performance. “Little L” came, and the crowds went crazy and sang along. The next song was “Black Capricorn Day“. This magical bluesy song added more taste to multi flavored music of JAMIROQUAI. “Use The Force” and “Travelling Without Moving” were brought next. With the audience moved right to the edge of the fence, Jay Kay led the band to bring out a series of JAMIROQUAI’s mega hits that have been really popular in Indonesia. Look at this set: “Cosmic Girl“, “Space Cowboy“, “Canned Heat” and “Love Foolosophy“. The crowds went crazy. Everybody stood up, dance, clapped their hand and sang together with Jay Kay. That was the end… really? No. After the “we want more” chant, they all came back on stage and brought a very popular song from the 1998 Godzilla soundtrack, the haunting “Deeper Underground“. And the show reached the end, for real.

There were three famous hits were missing though. “Corner of the Earth“, “Emergency on Planet Earth” and the song we were all waiting to have: “Virtual Insanity“. But besides that, the overall performance of JAMIROQUAI was incredible. It was like a dream come true. All these great songs from the great band that we all loved, that we could only listen through the CDs, now appeared right in front of our eyes, live, with brilliant stage act and perfect compositions. Delicious chunky bass, the wonderful play of the keyboard, rocky guitar, hot drums and percussions, plus the effective backing vocals resulted a simply perfections. The lightings were fantastic, the sound system was perfect, the video clip on the background and two big screen on the left and right side of the stage were really helped to make evetything better. We would say that it was the most friendliest concert, and the most amazing show we’ve ever seen. Two thumbs up and many thanks for Java Festival Production and Sentul City Convention Center for making this unforgettable concert came into reality. This also perfectly pictured Indonesia as a safe country for all the international artists to perform. As the LA Lights Concert Presents JAMIROQUAI marked the inauguration of Sentul City Convention Center and with the huge success of this performance, we really hope JAMIROQUAI concert become the fresh start for more amazing concerts to come.

Hint: There’s a strong possibilty that Jamiroquai will be back at Java Jazz Festival 2010.
