this sort of changes how i view stu's departure..and it's definitely a different side of the story than what we've heard over the years. for instance, i think a lot of people thought jay and stu were on okay terms at this point in time, but i guess not! also, stu wanting to be back in the band is news to me. i don't see that happening, to be honest.
it almost seems like this is his feeling in retrospect - missing out on being in the best funk band on the planet (not just fame & respect, but also money) has to hurt when you haven't found the success you'd think you'd have on your own. and on top of that, you've got a kid to support..
honestly, stu would do well to find another set of badass musicians and just make funky music with them. re-joining jamiroquai is something lots of people want, but is it going to bring back the vibes from the 90s? of course not. lots of things have changed since then - jay certainly has - and you can't re-create that perfect storm. |

There are two sides to every story for sure {as the old saying goes}. I don't think we will ever know the truth...I believe that is between Jay & Stuart and will remain between them for a long time to come. No matter what, I support Jamiroquai with or without Stuart...and I support Stuart with or without Jamiroquai.
Both have accomplished way too much to cancel the other one out. |

i just don't see this happening. jay doesn't seem like the forgive & forget type..plus he's got paul now. you can't just say, 'well, you're out of the band, stu's back.' that's not how professionals work. besides, even if he put stu back in, it wouldn't magically warp everything back to where they left off in 1998.

I think you are absolutely right, and I also would like to add an hypothetical situation...
I also think that stu back on the band would not be a panacea for their music right away but we know so far about stu, that he could give more brightness to Jamiroquai's sound in a long term after coming back.
You guys, what do you think? _________________ At the speed of cheeba, you and I go deeper... |

exactly - this is why i think stu's energy would be better spent on forming his own new band, maybe with simon katz and some of the old jamiroquai crew, but not with jay. |

I think we all miss the old days... but, even if I really dream of having the chance to see the old line-up on stage, I don't think this is going happen.
I cannot imagine Stu playing the new tunes... Nick had a great groove, but got a totally different sound, the players on Dynamite are closer to that sound (I don't know if Randy Hope-Taylor played all tracks, at least he played Don't Give Hate A Chance, and this was definitively a great bass riff but - hey - really closer to Nick's style rather than Stu's one), I don't believe he would fit like he did for Jamiroquai's masterpieces (different sound means different ways of playing, different basses to use, etc.).
If (and only IF ) Jay would go back to old times, it would be great.
But I don't think that new tunes will work good with Stu (and the other historic members, too). And I'm sure they all know it
