Can anyone help ??
Hi, on this DVD, just before the performance of 'When You Gonna Learn' Jay talks about a mistake made by Derrick during the recording of the original album version. Apparantly this mistake made it to the final press and is there for all to hear on the finished release.

Does anyone know at what point of the song the mistake happens? I took out the album and listened but it sounds perfect to me. Anyone able to tell me at which point in the song the mistake occured, I'm just so curios Wink

Ehmm.... yes sorry Embarassed , I meant at which point in Just Another Story the mistake happens?
As said I'm just curious although I'm sure it's something that the vast majority of us wouldn't notice.

Wasn't 'When You Gonna Learn?' recorded with Nick Van Gelder?

I haven't got the DVD, but maybe he's talking about what happens at 1:14 (from the first chorus, to the second verse). It seems quite out of timing... I always noticed that, but never asked myself if it was wanted or not.

Now I guess I found truth Very Happy

No, what he said, I think, is that the version that's on the album is the first take recorded of the song.

Jay's words are something like "and this track was the first track that Derrick ever played with Jamiroquai and basically what you hear on the record is the very first take.I don't know if Derrick will agree with me but there was a great big mistake and we left it there and it gives the song character...."

I was just wondering if anyone could point me to the mistake. I'm always interested in these small details. Kind of silly but...that's me Wink

Thanks.

Thanks for posting a response, yeah I'm guessing it was an in band thing because I've asked a friend who plays drums and he couldn't hear anything either. Confused
