News of the album being recorded live is the most satisfying. |

Sweet...
Live horns finally, and full band recordings. This should be a very warm, big album. Hopefully they'll bring a horn section with them Live. That'd be a gig I'd kill for!
Now if they'd only record it to tape... and not do digital.... |

Or or make it "really" special and release it on vinyl. ....no transparent colored vinyl.

Ha, I've got one of those:
Yeah, old skool would be great; I really want my filthy funk beat back. ('Filthy' as in James Brown's "Payback"-filthy) |

Yeah, you really can't beat that old super saturated bass drum sound. Ol' James had it right. If JMQ wanted to head in that direction they should look into getting Mark Ronson to produce some of there stuff.
That s*** would be smoother than warm honey--if it was released on vinyl!
I think Jay is a decent producer, but dynamite was too over produced I think. Everything was a little too clean and shimmery. They should head back to the old school sound, where mics are clipping a little here and there. Its the direction the industry is heading anyways. |
