WANTED: Recommendations for a "Birth compilation"
Hey Jamily,
I am sitting here with a big belly (photos coming soon!!) and preparing myself mentally for the birth of our Little M.
I remember the birth of our first son Marlin.... I had a tape with me, with lots of mixed songs I had recorded especially for that occasion. Of course there were a few jamiroquai songs on it, but also other songs I like and which would hopefully help me to relax during the pains.
Our second son came surprisingly early, so I hadn't prepared anything like that for his birth. On the other hand his birth was just 30 minutes long, so I wouldn't have had a chance to put the music on anyways.
This time I want to take a compilation on my iPod and hope I'll have the chance to listen to this special playlist during Little M's birth.
And I want you all to help me. Please think about which would be good songs for such an "event". When I then listen to those songs I'll have a a part of my Jamily with me in those special hours!
So, I am curious what songs you will recommend!!
Here we go!!

Hey Meike, this is such a wonderful idea
First song that came into my mind was "Two uf us" from Will Smith!!!
But the song would be better for Miran And for a boy
Btw. i really love the lyrics, so cute!!!

Prince - Xpectation
A collection of 9 songs. Each one represents one month of pregnancy. The last one ends with the screaming of newborn baby.
Really nice nu-jazz album from 2002 with violin by Vanessa Mae on it!
Tell me if you want it (as there is probably no possibilities to buy one at the moment).. |

Nice question mouse, I had mostly classical for mine a few that are just beautiful to consider are:
"Barcarole "Tales of Hoffmann" - Offenbach
"Sheep may safely Graze" - Johann Bach (one of my favourites)
"new world symphony 9" - Dvorak
"Waltz in A Minor Opus 39" - Brahms
"Reverie" - Schumann
Serenade in G "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik" K525-II Romanza - Motzart
Harp music is also very soothing and said to be healing. Listen to some see what you think |

Hey Meike! I hope am not too late on here!
A bunch of great suggestions above! Isn't She Lovely and Tears for Fears are the best! @ Russ! You could add:
Scream - Michael & Janet Jackson
Be My Baby - The Ronnettes
Material Girl - Madonna
Push - Madonna
Push It - Salt 'n Pepa
What It Feels Like For A Girl - Madonna
Baby Love - Diana Ross & The Supremes
Shout - Lulu
and of course, what we all love:
We Are Family - Sister Sledge - now that has got to be on your ipod! Although the Classical music approach sounds much better
Wishing you and Little M a relaxing and stress-free birth!
