I'm pleased to see this. But it must be horrid for all you fans around the world. I'm just pleased to finally see them for the first time! Twice! (ok my excuses for not seeing them before are limp I know - but I've still been waiting about three years! _________________ We could have saved the Earth but we were too damned cheap.

Sorry to post this...you guys are great and have kept it always up, after YEARS of jamiroquai's absence from the scene, so props to you.
First: about the incredibly stupid announcement of jamiroquai.com, I've only come out from jami-hibernation to say this: FUCK jamiroquai's RP people and Universal, Jami's again fallen prey of the same clowns they mocked a few years ago when they dissed Sony, to say Universal sucks would be redundant, but jamiroquai and whoever's in charge of this is also NOT worthy of any respect, bunch of hypocrites, Jason included.
Jamiroquai died for me back in the early 2000's...I did give them a chance but they came out with crap after crap, the greatest hits was also very disappointing.
Second: Not that they'll miss my money at all, but I have to start doing something else than just raising my voice, I WILL NOT buy any more jamiroquai stuff anymore, I'll download the cd (probably before it's sold in Mexico) and will distribute it around, I don't want anybody spending money on jamiroquai, both them and universal do not deserve any more respect nor support.
Unless the album is impressive, which I MASSIVELY doubt, I will become a demoter of the new jamiroquai...the old jamiroquai, the true-to-art one, will always be with me.
Nobody of jamiroquai ever reads our stuff here, so probably my comment will fade in a few days, but nevertheless I HAD to write this, I'm tired of stupidities, after all, we are the ones paying everyone's checks, meaning we are the bosses, but it's just frustrating that we are never listened to.
I only pray for jamiroquai to rise from the ashes, and hopefully I'll be proven wrong and they'll shut my mouth, I'd like to see that. |

that's very harsh stuff ur talking about man, seriously, even if u stopt liking the tunes since early 2000, still it's rude to just let people download it and not pay for what they make, these are musicians, it's the work they do. and even so u are not gonna like the new album, that's ur taste of music ofcourse, JMQ enjoys what they do, specially now with the upcoming album with all the freedom they got, no limits or rules what they could do or not, so it's all about taste of music, i think it's natural they changed, it's normal to change the sound, i think every real musician explores new things in his/her life, i know i am, so why not the rest? but nevertheless, they still didn't changed like it's no jamiroquai, to me i can always hear if it's somethin jamiroquaiish or not, so i think that vibe never died in my opinion.
and u say nobody of jmq reads this stuff here...Well, they acually do, and talks to fans on facebook too.
if u don't like them anymore, it's ur taste, but i feel it's quite disrespectfull to post somethin like this cause of that. _________________

You should've stayed in that jami-hibernation. |

Hello yet again,
Wolf is a good 'regional Jamiroquai fan' and friend of mine, and how abrasively vulger/angry/mean his post was to be perceived, I respect his opinion. Yeah, he kind of went abit 'overboard' with his diatribe but he does have reasoning to talk like this, we all do, if only a select minority of fans are reacting to this week's foible, then they're just being human. Wolf is simply expressing himself, as much as I did/very much like I did, but in trying to isolate my disappointment and veining my bantor in more of a 'comical way'. I mean, we deserve at least a little 'leeway' when responding to/reading posts where aggravated fans can vent their frustration. So, no harm done in my view, Brother Wolf, thanks for sharing.
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 _________________

Wolfvonder, you sound like a disappointed lover!
You used to love Jamiroquai, no doubt about this...
Don't forget the joy Jay Kay and the band gave you (us)...
You'll the first happy man if the new album sounds amazing isn't it?
Don't give hate a chance! Please wait and enjoy! _________________ "People find it's hard to be strong, cos' they don't know where they're coming from" |

i understand where u are coming from wolfvonder..welcome to the forum btw!
i was about to explode when i read those news and was talking about boycotting jamiroquai
anyway..we have to let it go. this was for sure a big PR-mistake.
i believe that jay and the crew still take the art serious. why would they take so long? they wanted to create a top-album. it´s a kind of comeback if u ask me. maybe even the last shot..either they are back or they will be just be remembered for the great things they did back then.
also agree with jay F. they are musicians and are making music for a living!
to give years of work away for free wouldn´t be very honorable.
u appear as a big jamiroquai fan yourself, and think u would deserve a bit more respect for following the band over all those years.
i totally understand that. but don´t let it get to you...it´s really not worth it.
but as u i hope we will be supersurprised by the new album. i still believe in that!
see u around! _________________ "Here it is...there is no way to make it better " |

Hmmm about taking this amount of time to provide an album... I'd still think the album won't be as impressive as people think. I mentioned before somewhere else, it will be a transitional work.
And it's interesting to note that lately we could see Jay more worried about having new cars and driving than commiting to the album itself, and I'm not being picky, before posting I've checked the news directly involving him...
It's also weird the fact that this time, the album progress seems much more nebulous than the last band's efforts, even with Dynamite we had a little bit of it by hearing black devil car at least 6~7 months before the release, Feels Just Like It Should and Electric Mistress were available for airplay around April 2005, witch was 3 months before the album release. And we know the band was usualy lukewarm about playing new material much before an album release, wich is something we don't see anymore.
Anyway, with this gig at 24th, i hope someone grab some camera and record it for us to see! At least if we find a new tune.
Cheers from brazil

Really? Maybe I'm wrong, but I consider Dynamite to be a transitional piece, whereas I hope/think that this album will have a better and more cohesive sound, because the band lineup is stable now.
I think Jay has lost the urgency of youth. He is older and more relaxed now. He's been in the business for nearly two decades, so he probably feels comfortable taking his time.

I have a sneaking suspicion that a single won't be released until a month or 1.5 months before the album release, or until AFTER the album is released. . |

Funky I said about the transtional period because besides Dynamite being a relatively versatile album, was still under Sony's wing, and the right moment for a transition of their sound would appear to be now that they're supposedly with total creative control of their work.
About his age, he shall just be aware of the band's fanbase, to not let himself fall into ostracism, and I know he won't be. _________________ At the speed of cheeba, you and I go deeper... |

I think that the whole Record Company dealing has a lot to do with the delay of this album.
We are making a lot of speculations around why this album is coming too late but I think we shouldn't forget that.
I bet that if Jamiroquai wouldnt left Sony this album would have come 1 year before or so. |
