Not The Funk... Song title from Rock Dust Light Star?
Been doing some browsing around the internet after all the excitement from the album announcement and I found this interesting bit of information.
The site which contains the Jeremy Wheatley bio page where it has White Knuckle Ride is his production credits, a guy called Brio Taliaferro also has a bio page. Upon looking through this, I noticed that in his discography, he is credited for additional production on:
Not The Funk by Jamiroquai!
Could this be a song from the new album?

Back in 2008 after the Ahaus gig Jay played a few demos to some of us in a mercedes... I remember a demo where he was singing "that's not the funk I want"... could be this one!!
But I also remember that I have been talking to Matt some time later at the Audi promotion gig and he told me that the songs have much changed since Ahaus. So, who knows what is left from that demo anyways.
Interesting find, though!!

I heard that someone recorded these demos that day. would be cool to listen them now that the album is comming on |

Isn't it alot nicer to hear it when the album is released? A fresh new album full of unheard new tracks which you instantly like or take time to grow on you.
The tracks we heard that day are either on the cutting room floor or have changed so dramatically you wouldn't recognise them from then. I also think it's extremely disrespectful if anyone recorded it & puts it on here!
We all agreed at the time that it would go no further than our ears & Jay was very serious indeed about this.
